State Police asks PSC for 311 nonemergency number
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State Police wants to make 311 a statewide number residents can dial for nonemergency purposes, according to a filing with the state Public Service Commission.

Great idea!!! Now the idiots who call in about stupid non emergencies will have a number to call so they don't tie up dispatch with crap calls while they are trying to take real emergency calls! I hope the PSC passes this!

They'll just refer everything to the county and city police like they do now. Might as well make 311 ring into the 911 Center
