Frontier Airlines is cancelling flights left and right today. Apparently their bankruptcy will hurt our travel plans.

Joe, if you're afraid to fly Frontier, then you sure as heck had better also stay away from UAL, AA, Delta, etc ... everyone except Wallmart-with-wings. Those big boys are in worse straights than Frontier. The bad sign for Frontier would be if loads were to drop off dramatically, but that hasn't been the case at all. Nope.

Flyerz, just curious what your comment about Southwest was about? I fly every week on multiple airlines and I have heard the "Walmart" reference. I am curious if the comparison means they provide a low cost option or if it refers to the passengers. I would imagine from your tone, you are referring to the passengers. I ask this because today I flew USAir from Manchester, NH to Philadelphia and saw half the flight in flip-flops and torn shorts. There were some overweight people, some dirty folks (still wearing their work overalls) and some business folks. There was no cabin food service, only drinks for a price. Based on your comment, you seem to think there is a significant difference between Southwest and other "major" airlines. I would argue the only difference is the no fee, friendlier service I seem to receive on Southwest.

Frontier Airlines delayed and then canceled flight #997 on Sunday March 20,2011 because AN EMPLOYEE(CREW MEMBER) CALLED IN SICK! Ticketed passengers stranded in Denver were told by Frontier Rep at gate they could get out on Tuesday March 22nd or get money for flight refunded, and Frontier said there were no available connectin flights to Albuquerque until Tuesday-even though other carriers had seats for sale! Frontier can't/doesn't have employee on call to cover if a crewmember doesn't show up? JUST LEAVES PASSENGERS STRANDED FOR 2 DAYS OR FIND YOUR OWN WAY OUT????? Would you fly on an airline knowing that if they cancelled a flight because one employee called in sick they wouldn't attempt to put you on another flight with any other airline THE SAME DAY?? How many people would just take a voucher and wait 2 days for a connecting flight?
