There was one of these "synergy" projects proposed in the California Desert near Blythe. The plant would be a primary CST with some heat storage and it would also have had a natural gas fired back up, standby generator when it was cloudy or when heat storage was below par at night. Entities like CARE Inc. are suing to stop the projects, because a group believes that the Desert near Blythe is the cradle of the ancient Aztec society, yeah, right, even the Aztecs were smarter than that!
