This is a real waste of money. If people want to kill themselves with drugs, let them. Some people are suffering needlessly from pain that could be controlled by drugs, but because of all the dope heads, doctors are now reluctlant to give them out. 3,000 people being treated with $5 million dollars? What is that per person? Stop the madness.

Guess it is easier reading "The Federal Government is giving" instead of "we are taking the money that you have worked for" and teaching people how to read instruction on their medicine. It would be better used to give our money to doctors not to write these prescriptions in the first place. Shut down all pain clinics.

Seriously ~~ Most of these people are so hooked on this stuff it is not funny ~ I know from one of my children being hooked on these pills. It is a sad situation for people. Especially those who have no insurance through their jobs to possibly get the help if they wanted it. These people need to be able to want to help themselves first before they will stop abusing, otherwise the robberies, home invasions, shootings & killings to get the money to buy these drugs won't stop !!!!!!!!! Or of course unless they just did away with the drugs which we all know will not happen. If it is not pills they move on to something else to get hooked on like the cheaper high of Herion. We also need to stop being enablers to these that are hooked !! Just Saying !

Crap!!! Spend money and stop the doctors who keep passing pain meds out. I know a doctor who has patients that drive from Cincy to get pills. I would think a red flag would go up. But the doctors and pill head just keep doing what they need to do. I am sick of the doctors in Columbus passing out pills to anyone thats lies and say they have a pain. I know 3 people that are on them bad. Also a 34 year old man ddied last year from them.

Unbelievable........... The same people bringing drugs into this country are rubbing it in our faces by using tax payer money to combat a problem the CIA is responsible for. Drugs will never disappear in this country b/c the blood thirsty banks would collapse without all the laundered drug money that flows through the banking system..............

That's quite a bit of money for a program that is really needed in Ohio.

They should probably really focus on managing that money with some serious oversight--that amount of cash is like a drug or opiate to the politicians in the State.

The last I heard, Ohio has no laws against "pain clinics" and there is at least one operating in Jackson -- it just got an exterior face-lift, in fact.

It's shame that a % of this money is not being utilized for prevention of prescription drug abuse. Again let's focus on treatment only...I guess more people have to die for us to get the message.
