Yepper sound volume varies a lot on my government mandated digital TV. To fix the problem I leave my TV turned off and find much more meaningful things to do.
In other words, if the scumbags at NBC, ABC, CBS et al depended on me they'd all be facing foreclosures.

Our government working hard for us.

This is a MUCH bigger problem than the deficit, the economy, the unemployment situation, Iran's nuclear program or the maniacs trying to close down commerce on the west coast. It's right up there with Roger Clemens and steroids in sports!

Thank you government for making our lives SO MUCH better!

Love the idea that commercials will be turned down but hate the way it was done, it not a function of government to police my volume.

Actually the latest I heard is political ads are specifically exempted as "political speech".

Why would we need government to do this. If lots of people call the station or advertizer repeatedly and tell them they will keep calling (and not buy anything from them), they will get the message.

No new regulations and additional money for regulators is needed. Just do it yourself!

Mothra is right, Bill. You won't even get credit if you (accidentally) say something intelligent when you continually post remarks that can only be described as, "fcking stupid".

Because the sheeple are too lazy & stupid to do that. Much easier to have the govt do it for you.

If only you knew a little history.

The FCC, under Reagan, permitted advertisers to modify (amplify) the audio characteristic of commercials. They also cranked up the high fequencies to make them more penetrating.

Learn your history before shooting off your stupid mouth.

That happened, 30 years ago, and the TV executives ignored the 'people' in favor of the 'money.'

Are you surprised?
