What they don't tell you is that these plants are very costly and that taxpayers often end up picking up the tab if something goes wrong. These plants often rely on huge government subsidies. And some plants, such as the Crystal River plant in Florida, have had constant problems for years and are shut down much of the time.

With the republicans cutting all spending projects , then these nuclear power plants are not safe! Nuclear power is very expensive to maintain and if the republicans dont wont to spend money on them , then they should be closed up!
