Ohio utility bruised from light bulb fight offers to make energy efficient bulbs voluntary
#1 Dec 16, 2009
I bought some of those spiral bulbs. I put them in a sheltered area where they are on 5 hours a day for my animals- They lasted 30 days- 150 hrs. That's it. How is that more economical? I even changed the fixtures, made no difference, the second set burned out, too. An incandescent 60 watt bulb will last months. What a giant rip-off. I will just stock pile incandescents and leave the mercury filled ones to all you "green" people.
Oh, by the way- the less electricity you use, the more "The Illuminating Company" will charge you.

Well no kidding. This was a big scam they really thought would work?

First they cause a blackout and now they had a brilliant plan of getting rich by charging consumers ridiculous amount for two stupid blubs?
Hey, FristEnergy: F U!!
How about if you lower prices instead??

You might of bought a batch that was just bad or a brand that is not the greatest. We have those spiral bulbs in our house too and it's been a year and they have not burnt out not once, but if we use a regular standard light bulb, then we are changing light bulbs on a monthly basis. As far as the Illuminating Company, we don't use that company for electric.
