"FirstEnergy spokeswoman Ellen Raines says the costs are fair and appropriate."
Fair to WHOM? Certainly not fair to those of us that already USE these, and who buy them for $4 or less. SHAME on FirstEnergy and their stupidity and greed.

Of course Ellen Raines is saying the costs are fair and appropriate because she probably earns a high-paying salary at First Energy. I say they should recoup their costs by forcing the high paid execs to take a pay decrease, starting with Ellen!

Worst Energy is at it again. While our light bills continue to rise First Energy is running our electrical infrastructure in to the ground due to lack of preventative maintenance. Then they have the gall to boast about record profits. We're getting screwed thanks to deregulation that was supposed to create competition and lower costs. Just another case of the public buying a bill of goods that turn out to be B.S. down the road.

WHAT IS with this FIRST ENERGY company. I'm sorry, did we the consumer ASK for these light bulbs in the first place? DID WE?

I can just as easily buy them at Walmart and cheaper, plus way less chance of them breaking in the MAIL?

THE BOard of DIRECTORS at FIRST ENERGY and the PRESIDENT should be REMOVED ! IDIOTS, I can't believe they have the ARROGANCE to even ask !

I agree with the Comsumer advocates. FirstEnergy CEOs and stockholders should be forced to "eat this one" as a cost of bad doing business and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio shoukld do it's job and stop ripping off the little man/women. Heck they complain about mercury comtamination then introduce these new light bulbs with mercury in them. Watch out when you break one, mercury contamination!

i thought it was settled long ago and we the customers weren't going to pay! what a rip off - "green" actually means money in certain people's pockets! i am sooo tired of this so called enery crisis and climate change that rips off people who can't afford it.

No one asked for these bulbs. How can First energy force people to pay for something only they decided to do.First Energy has caused nothing but problems over the years and making bad choices.
