"FirstEnergy maintains it will absorb any costs related to the project and not put a burden on consumers."

Right, you're absorbing the cost by raising rates.. Who the heck to these people think we are, the dumb public?

God forbid they cut into their profit margins when they're living the high-life, making their share holders happy and getting bonuses because of it.. Corporate Greed, gotta love it.. Ooops, I forgot it's called capitalism..

Let me add something onto this if you don't believe me..

"FirstEnergy (NYSE:FE), the Ohio-based electric utility, reported a 24% increase in net income for the quarter ending December, 2008. The earnings per share (EPS) came in at $1.04 against the 87 cents of the previous year's same quarter, with income up to $332 million versus $268 million. Increased power sales led to higher revenues of $3.2 billion compared to $3.1 billion from the same quarter a year earlier. The stock trades around $43, down from a 52-week high of $84. There looks like potential opportunity with this stock."

They will not have any trouble getting the PUCO to believe that the project costs will be absorbed. Consumers will be screwed again.
Perhaps idiobama will have the government take over utility companies next!

They just approved rate hikes and now they want more?! Okay, so we get to choose...do we EAT or pay them? This is just plain GREED and needs to be stopped. Visit PUCO and make your opinions known.
