Good for the INS!!! Don't even try to tell me they did nothing wrong. They are here illegally...that's breaking the law.
They are using fake or stolen SS numbers...that breaking the law.
If these businesses would have to verifiy the SS numbers of all of its workers this type of stuff would be curtailed. If they couldn't get jobs, they would have to leave. If the companies that hire illegal aliens were not able to deduct the wages paid to phoney SS numbers, they would stop hiring them.
These are not just here to make money to feed their family.
They are here to rip off our welfare, medical and educational systems.
I know this first hand. I witnessed several people in one household work under assumed names and numbers and others in the household recieve food stamps and medical care. With that kind of money coming in plus all the free stuff our government gives them, they can afford to work cheaply and live twice as good as the rest of us hard working LEGAL Americans.Too bad the welfare system doesn't get off their duffs and do some 'out of office' investigating too.
I lost my business and eventually my home to illegal aliens.
They are doing way more harm than good.
I am anxious to see more actions like this.
These agencies are in existance to carry out actions just like this and it is time they do the job they are paid to do.

Yesterday there was a bust at the Del Monte produce plant here in Portland, OR. They rounded up about 50 illegals. Most had been employed via a staffing agency that actually provided them with fake social sercurity numbers!!! Portland Mayor Tom Potter actually suggested that this bust was bad for business!!!! I don't care if it was bad of business THEY WERE FREAKING ILLEGALS!!!! Potter is not getting my vote should he run for reelection!!! And all the people are all sad because these people were torn away from their families, now I may never see my aunt again kind of crap. Your aunt broke the law! No, it is not illegal to dream of coming to America to make a better life for yourself and your family, but you damn well better do it legally or you can just suffer the consequences. Damn the politicians who are soft on immigration policies.

Keep up the raids in Oregon and every state of the US. How dare the illegals use false documentation and than to have the mayor acting so stupid in their defense. Maybe he should go retire in Mexico. The illegals can take him when they deport the ones that were caught.

It is a real "lawman" saying that it was "bad for business?" that clown is a past chief of Police; It make one wonder how he "enforced" the LAWS then dosen't it? If that was "bad" for business to "enforce" the law of the LAND then that's tooooo bad and boohoo for the "illegal" managers of the business that knew they hired them in the first place. I say GOOD for you INS and US Customs agents for doing your job keep it up ladies and gentlemen your the real hero's here.

Start surfing the connections between the weird sale of "Fresh Del Monte" in Mexico to a lower bidder, connected to Marvin Bush. The Hawaii pineapple suit and how promises changed after lawsuit settled. Jeb Bush pushing to keep "protection" for OJ tariff that helped them. The horrors of their banana plantations. And the middle east guy who fronted the purchase.
Then wonder how folks GET those SS numbers and how nobody notices that DEAD people are working under their SS number. Gag and puke.
They are not the only bad bananas in the bunch though. Poppy Bush used to own stock in what later became Chiquita -- the Cincinnati scandal ridden Colombia connections and terrorist payoffs. Whose owner donated to W. and did party for W. on ballfield he owned.
Whose employee Joe Hagin works in the White House now (like he did for Poppy). Big Joe was "spokesman" when they fought the expose Cincy paper did on their bad banana business in late 90s. So they later "turned themselves in" on paying another Colombian terrorist group. Kept paying them til they "sold" those assets. But, the senior execs aren't ID'd by name in DC suit. Could that be so can't extradite them like they want. I want to know if senior exec -- VEEP of Chiquita Joe --- gets to skate or pay.
Supporting terror -- is there a law against that?

What part of the word ILLEGAL doesn't our mayor understand. I guess from now on if you would receive, lets say a speeding ticket, you can just plead "it's okay your honor, I'm a hard working person"

totally agree with you, philip.
maybe you could say you were just rushing home to put food on the table for your family and he will find you 'honorable' and 'excused' from your illegal behavior.
I am SO sick of Portland being run by liberal wierdos.
Potter is so pathetic and his ideas are so far out there that is boggles the common sense of most breathing humans.
What does he smoke? I'm sure it is 'legal'.

Claudia,
I want to see you get your butt out there and do what they do. Live the struggle that one lives and actually take time to listen to ones perspective before you go talking all kind of smack. Yes, I do agree that some do take advantage of the government, but you can not classify all by one bad apple. I completely dis agree with your comment. As for the wages being deducted, I guarantee 100% that you have no problem with your family or friends using the money that they earned.

Marisela,
First of all, i HAVE done what they do. but the government do-gooders won't let the school kids pick the crops anymore. I spent all my summers in the fields earning my school clothes money. Kids now days will never get to know that feeling of accomplishment. And they say they only do jobs no one else will? what a laugh.
You are mistaken, hon, I do not talk smack. I talk the truth from what I have observed.
Struggle!????I worked along side my husband remodeling, sheetrocking, scrapping and siding houses. Something we were self employed at for almost 20 years. But the influx of cheap labor drove us right out of our business. We were an army of 2. They would bring in ONE legally bonded and licensed person, under bid the jobs by over half of what we bid, bring in 15 'illegals' to perform the job, and be gone before we could dial the phone for the Oregon Construction licensing board to report them. More than once, we were visited on our jobs by the Construction Board to check on our license to make sure we were working legally. When we asked if they were also going to check the workers in the next building the response would be...and i quote...'if the people over there speak spanish, i will not even bother checking on them.' The inspectors for the board knew they were not working legally, but he said the paper work would take longer than it would take for them to get new social security numbers and be working on another job.
So now you tell me why i would not have just a bit of a bitter attitude about this influx of ILLEGAL aliens coming here and bankrupting our systems. They don't want to come here for a better life. It looks to me, IN MY OPINION, that they want to come here and change our customs and ways to what they came from!!!!
They need to come here legally...i have no problem with that.
They need to learn the language...which is English!
They need to obey the laws.
They need to recieve help while getting on their feet with a maximum time limit put on them like they do for people from other countries.
I sponsered several families from Russia and Romania who were being prosecuted in their homelands for being Christians.
They waited years to come here. They were given 2 years to learn the language and become gainfully employed.
Not a one of the adults in the groups i was involved in needed that 2 years. They got right to work to learn the language and the customs, got educated and are now very much contributing to our country and proud to be on the road to becomming Americans.
Don't you dare tell me to get off my butt and suffer like they have. You do not know how I have lived or what I have seen.
I did NOT call all hispanic immigrants wrong.
Just the ones who come illegally and put their hand out.
They need to be sent home NOW!
What they are doing is a felony and they should be treated as such!

As for your last line about the wages...?
I would comment, but I am not sure what you said.

this is such a powerful topic...what a tragedy that mericas leaders have allowed this situation to escalate to its current place...if there had been intervention many years ago we wouldn't have people so desperate to feed their families that they run across the high desert or get packed into mules trucks and endured unbelievable misery to come here and work for pennies in conditions our citizens would never tolerate, all in the name of corporate fat cats,,,because the companies do not want to pay a minimum or living wage and supply benefits, pay taxes or anything else that uncorrupted business people do, so they victimize anyone they can to make sure they can vacation in cancun...I am sickened to see what happens to the American workers and their families as they are undercut by people from other countries that are equally as desperate....all in the land of plenty...where the hell is the leadership here? How about them stepping up to their ownership in this catastrophe? No chance of that, since most of them are so closely tied to this disgusting practice- it is unbelievable...please rmember your legislative power and contact your local Senators & Representatives to let them know how you feel....we should be united on this front, for peoples rights, regardless of how the color of our skin seperates and segregates us...

Claudia, you are so right on. The parents of one of my daughter's friends applied to become a American citizen, legally I might add, from CANADA. Both parents professional people, one a doctor the other a nurse. They were required to pay $50 each to take a English competency test. The last time I checked Canadians speak English, but It was a requirement in order to become a citizen of this screwed up country. You bleeding heart liberals who want to open our country to ILLEGALS, just wait until the 13 to 20 million ILLEGALS start drawing Social Security in a few years, without paying into the fund, S.S. will be positively bankrupt. I hope you 30 something people have all your ducks in order, 'cause there wont be any money from social security and Medicare to help you .

As a little fyi, I know of a woman who lives in one of the larger Los Angeles areas.
When she goes to the school meetings at her childrens school there, she is given a headset where she can hear the meeting translated into English....because the entire meeting is conducted in Spanish!!!!!
Talk about absurd!!!
We are allowing our country to be taken from us a little at a time.
Most people will wait to cry 'foul' until it is at their front door.
Philip speaks the truth about social security and Medicare.
It is estimated there is approximatly 150 THOUSAND illegals in the state of Oregon alone. This number is given out by, who else, but the Oregon DMV!!!! They should know, they issue them their licenses!!!!!!
By the way, as a side note, I have had 2 cars TOTALED by uninsured, non-english speaking ILLEGAL aliens...who were on suspended licenses driving cars that were not registered.
Did I have the only 2 in Oregon run into me?
I think not!!!!!!

Thanks for linking this great website. Looked up my county, and they have our biggest offender listed.
Stinking AMNESTY bill back next week. Call, e-mail, or write your Senators and representatives. Tell them to KILL the bill or we are stuck for more decades with WORSE.
We must use law already on books (copy at website above) to punish the real perps. 1,000 pages of "new rules" NOT needed. Fire ICE if they don't enforce when notified -- it's their job. Get involved. Report these greedy profiteers.
Chiquita paid terrorists -- but not to "protect" workers. Inform yourself. They union bust and keep workers enslaved. Our CIA says we fight communism, overthrows govts., trains guys who end up "death squads" in Central and South America. Get political or your taxes will keep killing innocents around the world. They "hate" our crooked, crony-corporations abusing them. Stop it or stop griping.
Start undoing state laws that keep 3rd parties off ballots. Get active as Democrats meantime to stop feeding the military/industrial war mongers selling their wares by trying to make all of us fear each other enough. Work for peace and FAIR TRADE, cause "free" trade ISN'T.
Ballots v. Bullets. If you don't start using one, you'll be needing the other!!!!

FINALLY! Don't give us the song and dance about the poor people - if you are here LEGALLY - Welcome to Oregon - if illegally, pack you stuff,'cuz you're going home!!!

It is ridiculous how many illegals there are here - when I was a kid I worked in the fields, I did the grunt work - that's a bunch of crap that American's won't do it - we can't, they take the jobs - the employers should be nailed that hire illegals and we should line up the buses - go to Walmart in Woodburn - that would take a ton of the population and maybe Woodburn could begin to clean up - Can't wait for the next INS raid!!!!
