BofA to settle Fleet pension lawsuit

Charlotte-based Bank of America Corp. in September reached a preliminary agreement to settle all claims in a class-action lawsuit that alleges predecessor FleetBoston Financial Corp. violated federal pension laws, according to a securities filing last week.

Bank spokeswoman Shirley Norton said details are still being worked out and are not yet public. After that, class members would be notified, she said.

Tom Moukawsher, an attorney for the plaintiffs, also said he couldn't provide details. He said the agreement could be finalized in the next two months. Read more
