Will they ever let you post status up...

Will they ever let you post status updates for only certain people?

I wish FB would let you create lists, where you can assign your friends to different lists.

Then when you post a status update, you can select which list you want to post it to.

So if I only want co-workers to see a certain status update, I just select the co-worker list.

Can't do that right now, but will FB ever let us do that?

Privacy tab? That only lets you prevent certain people from seeing any of your status updates. I'd like to be able to have one group of people only see certain updates, and another group of people only see other updates. You can't do that in FB right now.

Agh, someone just friended me. I will accept his friendship, but then because of the lack of this feature, I will first need to delete some of my old status updates before I friend him! Can't let him see those!:)

You see that little lock underneath the box where you type in your status update? Click on it!

Old post i know but still lol.

The lock doesn't show the lists that you can put people in when you add them or from the friends list page.

With the new updates, you can select 'custom' from the bottom of the update box. Then 'hide this from' and then type the list name of people you would like to hide the post from. Then save the changes and go ahead and share your update. You will need to have lists prepared in the first place though.
