Obama praises NASA for Mars landing

Full story: The Washington Post

President Barack Obama says NASA's successful mission to put a robotic rover on Mars is an "unprecedented feat of technology." You FREAKIN' got to be FREAKIN' kidding me..Americans could give a care about a Mars landing touchdown..when their bellies are hungry, the homeless numbers are rising and the dreaded gloom and doom of the Mayan calendar is approaching..GET OVER YOURSELF...

Always interesting reading your posts. The glimpse into untreatable insanity is scary but fascinating.

The "insanity" is THAT billions are being spent on going to a planet that cannot sustain "life" as we know here on Earth..WHY THE FREAK venture to a Red Planet?? That may or may not be even have water? WHAT happened to that planet THAT was comparable to Earth..but it had a cold dark side, but the remaining part LOOKED exactly like Earth? Hollywood drama, a distraction from the FREAKIN' Real-Life in everyone's daily schedules as we know today...Sad..THAT "life" in itself has become just another "word"...and NOT seen as the Gift is actually is..I honestly do not have time to waste on NASA going to a far, far away galaxy to seek a planet that is ONLY interest to them..I would prefer to checkout the Milky Way...all those beautiful clusters of stars that may be hiding a planet like ours..just a thought..

Imagine where the space program could have been, if we hadn't been fooled into "having to" go bomb Afghanistan and Iraq.

Yeah, hindsight is 20/20.

Hindsight for some, but for others it was fairly clear that getting dragged into a useless war in Afghanistan and even one more pointless one in Iraq was a stupid idea to start with. Waste of money that could have been used elsewhere.
