Our jobs went to Mexico but only for a short time. In five years all of our product is to be built in China. The Mexicans make too much money and their quality lacks. As far as big Ed, you give him too much credit. Ain't it great to be out of there!! Those last couple years about killed me. Thank God for life after Visteon!!!
Yes, it is certainly great to be out of there! Good luck to you!

<quoted text>If you think any of us feel sorry for Mark"hometown"Winter s, think again. You are barking up the wrong tree. Winters was part of the system, kissed the right behind, got his cushy job, and made a ton of money headcutting with the best of them. Try telling your pathetic story to all the others who lost their job because of mis-management and see what kind of sympathy you get. The people who worked (and I stress the job WORKED) there know the facts. I am sick of these hometown armchair quarterbacks who ne

ver spent one minute sweating their behinds off who profess to sweep the truth under the rug. What about the environmental hazards from that site? What about the sexual harassment that took place from the supervisors, and the cover-ups and denials from management to save their jobs? Winters was probably ordered to come down and deliver the news, of which most of us knew was coming anyway. Winters can now cash in his stock options and kick it up in the lap of luxury, all the while Connersville will struggle to survive. That plant will be hard pressed to find a buyer. Thanks Visteon!
Great post. I couldn't agree more.

Can't believe all the complainers. It makes perfect sense to move a plant based on cost and productivity. The complainers never ask, what would I do if I was running the company? This would require to much thought by most of the people complaining. All they do is look at the issue from one narrow lense. Move on, stop feeling sorry for yourself and get a new job.

For the professional complainers:
1. Get over the loss of your job.
2. Take a month off from complaining.
3. Remember, ridiculous union wages, benefits, etc... put you in your situation in the first place and now it's biting you in the ass.
4. Get your resume in order and look for a new job.
Good Luck.

The workers in Bedford took that pay cut and look where it got them. I wish people would become more informed before they make statements about things they do not know about.

Are you aware that when prospective factories look
at Connersville, they are able to see labor records including but not limited to contract struggles? Now I will ask you If you owned a factory that you were relocating, what looks better a work force that will give back when times are tough or one that just wants to ask for more? How many factories have had these same problems in town? How many has to close before we get it? And yes I was aware that Bedford closed, but at least they worked together company and union to give it a good try. I really dont want to see Visteon fail just because I lost my job. That would mean more people out of work. or more jobs over seas. Who needs that?

You are right on target. The workers at Bedford did give and if not for the worldwide downturn in business may have survived. When are our workers going to understand that there are no rules that say the next year has to be better than the last? Reality is that there are ups and downs. Sometimes you must work harder for less to make sure there is a chance of a better tommorrow.

If I work to earn $18+ an hour with benefits, I'll be gawddammed if I take anything less on a contract. I may go along with keeping what I have, but bite me if you think I'll EVER take less. Move your friggin' shop somewhere else. I will survive.

So why do you think you are entitled to a base wage regardless of what happens economically to the company you work for?
