obama's such a dummy! he's already trying to get the federal government to match the $7,500 gm rebate for his new all electric-hybrid 'volt'!

his energy speech demanded that the younger generation buy his new all electric-hybrid if they want to save the world ... little did he tell them that it is unproven tech, it is EXTREMELY more expensive, and that MORE coal will have to be burned & it's carbon sent into the atmosphere for the extra electricity needed to power his POS cars!

like I said, obama's an idiot!

Good for you Ford, go ahead and show the others how it is really done and accomplished - without the money handout from Uncle Sugar.
That is certainly to your credit Ford, that being said can you bring back to the USA those assembly plants from Mexico and shread the NAFTA deal to pieces.

Al Sharpton - CCW with a fully loaded S&W model 57 certainly helps. That doesn't eliminate all the problems but it gives me piece of mind.

Congrats to FORD.

The American people rewarded Ford for not becoming nothing more than a vile tax slave supported JOKE like Obama and his Union Masters made of GM.

Ford Motor Company is cashing in on new fuel efficient cars and trucks developed during the Bush administration. This was a years long project to develop new engines, a new 6 speed non slip transmission, and new small body styles. Ford's quality is at the top of the industry.

When Ford's new light weight aluminum diesels come on the market fuel economy will jump once again. These are engines once thought to be impossible. Ford's EcoBoost twin turbo engines are the strongest engines on the market. Strong enough for conversion to diesel and that will happen in a few short years. Fuel economy and power will go up at the same time.

There are 30,000 government regulations which stifle innovation, technology, and efficiency on American built automobiles. Capitalism has still managed to overcome government restrictions and come out on top.

It's a tax credit given to any electric car by the Bush administration as part of emergency economic stabilization act of 2008.

"The act establishes a new credit for plug-in electric drive passenger cars and light trucks ranging from $2,500 to $7,500 (Sec. 30D)"

Ford will contimue to sell more vehicles than GM, because they are selling better vehicles: Better engineering , better engines, more power, better styling , better workmanship ,and better gas mileage. The workmanship and quality of the new GM vehicles has reached a new low, the Chevrolet trucks are particularly bad: old engine design and poor transmissions.

It's back to the drawing board for General Motors , cars and trucks. But there isn't time for that.

When is the last time Ford designed a new chassis? The F-150 chassis has been out since 03'. The Super Duty for a LONG time. The new Explorer has the chassis of the Taurus. The Fusion rides the same one for forever.

I appreciate the advancement in dashboard technology from Ford, but really, nothing is "new".

Does it make anyone feel better that Ford did need a loan for fuel efficient vehicles from the government? GM declined the loan and funded the project themselves. What happened? GM had over 960 patents in 2010 for fuel efficient vehicles. Hmmmm.....
