Pharmacist VS Doctor

Hi Everybody:

This is a question from a Baby Boomer ... me. I have no medical experience in this area but someday I might be a patient and would like to know the answer to this question.

Situation: I am under a particular Doctors care in a medical institution and he has prescribed a certain medication for me.

Question? Can this medication be changed by the Pharmacist without the Doctors consent?

Please answer this question for me if possible on the forum or email me at
