It's no wonder they face some lawsuits. Ambulance chasing lawyers out of Houston have advertising on TV 24/7 looking for victims, specifically naming several nursing homes.

I worked at Kenwood before extendicare took over and after they took over. I was there when they took over. Everyone that worked there at the time could tell a big difference. Extendicare wasn't worried about anything but saving money, even if that meant patient care went out the window. I am glad they are being took to the cleaners on this one! I hope more stand up and do the same!

People madison is no different then any of them. I am telling you the state has a policy 1 aide for 12 residents.. then they come in fussing this isn't right this isn't done. Do u all relize how hard it is to take care of 12 people by urself..

My wife was in a nursing facility for 2 years. Many of the staff became like her extended family and were deeply saddened at her passing, some even taking time to come to her funeral.

I admire the ability of those that can perform those tasks day in and day out. I tried to do it myself for several months before she went there. It was not possible.

And yes Nurse2010, I definitely realize how difficult it is to care for 12. I could not do it for just one.

So sorry for ur loss.. if their is abuse rather it be a nursing home or hospital or even if the own family is takin care of them it needs to stop...the people I take care of I think about them all the time.. if I ever seen someone being mean or cruel it wouldn't be pretty I will tell u that. My grandfather was in a nursing home and they didn't treat him like they should..but I went in constanly and checked on him. He was just their for rehab. But he later passed a anursing facilty. So I have been there been through it. But don't just judge madison there's neglect in all.. and like I said takin care of 12 to 14 per aid is difficult in giving the total quality a person needs..
