Today, John Rowe, the CEO of Exelon, announced that his company, which is the largest electric utility company in the United States, would not renew its membership in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce because of its opposition to global warming action. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce claims that a cap-and-trade program to limit global warming pollution would “strangle the economy” and has even called for a “Scopes monkey trial” on the science of global warming.of

President Obama's "cap and trade" is just going to drive our utility bills sky high.

It'll just be yet another pass through on our monthly bills.

Just another tax by another name.

carter did cause mass panic, high inflation, 23+% interest rates, 14% unemployment, HIGHER TAXES, and 3 mile long gas lines!
he LIED to America then - obama IS LYING TO AMERICA NOW!!!
Did you even bother to read the article?...... ROFL.. This is sad. This is why there's no support for the right and opposition... ROFL

Not if you switch to alternative energy resources, in Texas there's a opportunity for you to sell energy to the utility companies if you were using solar energy. There's an opportunity to have your utility bills paid for if you were to invest in alternative energy. depending further on the middle east is a disaster just waiting to happen.

That's the entire object of Cap and Trade, and why Exelon support the measure. Have you people read anything related to Cap and Trade or this article. there seems to be a lot of ignorance about what the objective of cap and trade will do..

How many permits for Nuclear plant had the Bush Administration authorized in 8 years? Bush being an Oil Man and his family invested in Oil, why do you think there's been on movement away from dependency from Middle East Oil, and no permits authorized for nuclear plants? 8 years is a long time

It is immoral to use and distort climate change for political gain.

Exelon is absolutely right. Obama is conning you.

Where are you getting your information?

ROFL!!!!! The Article says Exelon supports Obama's agenda on climate change. They are parting ways from the Chamber of Commerce because the Chamber opposes Obama.

I knew you weren't to well informed. I could tell by how your arguments of opposition were framed. ROFL....... Good Grief....
