Today, John Rowe, the CEO of Exelon, announced that his company, which is the largest electric utility company in the United States, would not renew its membership in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce because of its opposition to global warming action. More CEO like John Rowe should vote with their feet. Our government is not listening to its citizens and their are the big lobby groups like Chamber of Commerce. Way to go Mr Rowe.

"Exelon Corp, the largest nuclear power operator in the United States, on Monday became the latest U.S. power company to say it will leave the Chamber of Commerce over that group's opposition to the climate bill....

Nuclear power is virtually emissions free, which means Exelon could face less emissions costs under climate regulation than a utility that generates electricity mostly from coal and natural gas."

http://www.reuters.com/article/internal_Reute...

Cap & trade would certainly hurt their competition.

Hmmm... maybe not such a virtuous belief in global warming....

btw, notice how the Snafu-ed version calls Exelon an 'electric' utility company and omits 'nuclear'?

More nuclear. More nuclear now. That's John Rowe's goal. The NYT and AP and any assortment of lib rags will not tell you that about John Rowe.

Sooner or later it is going to occur to Barack Obama that he is the president of the United States. As of yet, though, he does not act that way, appearing promiscuously on television and granting interviews like the presidential candidate he no longer is. The election has been held, but the campaign goes on and on. The candidate has yet to become commander in chief.

Take last week's Group of 20 meeting in Pittsburgh. There, the candidate-in-full commandeered the television networks and the leaders of Britain and France to give the Iranians a dramatic warning. Yet another of their secret nuclear facilities had been revealed and Obama, as anyone could see, was determined to do something about it -- just don't ask what.

The entire episode had a faux Cuban missile crisis quality to it. Something menacing had been discovered -- not Soviet missiles a mere 100 miles or so off Florida but an Iranian nuclear installation about 100 miles from Tehran. As befitting the occasion, various publications supplied us with nearly minute-by-minute descriptions of the crisis atmosphere earlier in the week at the U.N. session -- the rushing from room to room, presidential aides conferring, undoubtedly aware that they were in the middle of a book they had yet to write. I scanned the accounts looking for familiar names. Where was McNamara? Where was Bundy? Where, in fact, was the crisis?

Yes, and the blue state morons can sit around in the dark, because that's exactly what you would be doing, dummy. Enjoy your solar powered automobile.

The something he should do about Iran is NOTHING.

That's Isreal's problem.

There's nothing invested for the United States.

There is a zero sum gain in a stand off with Iran.

I guess he doesn't like wearing tin-foil hats like Al Gore and the rest of the Chicken Littles.

Besides, Van Jones let the cat out of the bag when he openly admitted:
