Proposed climate bill a breath of fresh air

The climate bill, with its cap-and-trade component, that is to go to the House floor for a vote Friday is that rare piece of legislation that has both environmentalists and heavy industry saying they can live with the result. Full Story

They are desperate to get their killing done before people realize what's happening!

No patriotic and informed American can support the ACES Act (global warming/cap and trade scam), a huge Ponzy scheme that will kill the U.S. economy.

Cap and Trade "would be the equivalent of an atomic bomb directed at the U.S. economy—all without any scientific justification," says famed climatologist Dr. S. Fred Singer. It would significantly increase taxes and the cost of energy, forcing many companies to close, thus increasing unemployment, poverty and dependence.

Cap and trade represents huge taxes and cost increases, which will hurt mostly the poor and the middle class while further empowering and enriching Obama and his fraudulent billionaire friends (Gore, Soros, Goldman Sachs, Obama’s Chicago Climate Exchange friends, GE, the United Nations, etc.)-- all at our expense and at the expense of our children and grandchildren.

More and more scientists and thinking people all over the world are realizing that man-made global warming is a hoax that threatens our future and the future of our children. More than 700 international scientists dissent over man-made global warming claims. They are now more than 13 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers. http://www.climatechangefraud.com/content/vie...

Additionally, more than 30,000 American scientists have signed onto a petition that states, "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate." http://www.petitionproject.org

Those brainwashed to the point of wanting to destroy the economy to "prevent global warming" are behaving like the most primitive human beings who were duped into believing that human sacrifices would ensure them good weather. Human beings don't have the power to control climate! And killing the economy will not help the environment. Poor countries can't protect the environment. Just look at Haiti!

Please do what you can to defend your family and your country. Write to your representatives and ask them to defend us from Obama’s criminal scheme -- https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.s...

Industry may be able to live with the results but consumers can't - here's to hoping this poorly thought out piece of legislation that none of them have even read in its entirety FAILS.

The burden, as always, falls to the CONSUMER.

Since human-caused global warming is clearly a fake science and word is spreading (media can't keep this down for much longer), it is just a matter of (little) time before EVERYONE in the nation is laughing thier behinds off at Gore/Obama's global warming fairy tail. Unfortunately, severly harming the economy with this bill, which does nothing to the climate one way or another, will not be as funny.

Industry doesn't care because they will do one of two things. Cease operations and move to China or pass the increased costs to the consumer.
So if this bill does become law, don't whine about those greedy electrical companies, whine about those greedy Washington D.C. Democrat elitists.

Big Industry loves this cap and trade because they will be given their permit to emit carbon when any new comers and start ups that want to compete will have to buy theirs. This is protectionism for existing businesses.

If you truly love the environment, you are doing a great disservice to it by supporting cap and trade. Any new ideas that will reduce emissions would have come from the start-ups. That's all over now.

Besides, global warming is a scam. Thanks for dumping on the common man with your mass-hysteria.

100 years from now, the people looking back on us will think we are hysterical idiots. First the Red-Scare with McCarthism, Then Global cooling in 1979, then global warming now. How many pandemic freak-outs do we need before we realize we should lead our selves as individuals because as a nation or as a race, we (and the leaders we elect) are f'n idiots.

For as far as we have come as a race, we are still running from our shadows like we did when we were in the caves.

HOW DARE THE GOVERNMENT TRY AND PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT.

I can not afford $175 more a year for energy like the CBO says it will cost me. I want my $.50 day now, so that I can up-size my coffee everyday.

Why should I care about my grandchildren's future? I will be far dead by the time that they all start to get cancer from the pollution that I was too cheap to fix.

It is always better to save money in the short run and spend way more on health bills and energy in the future. Who ever said it was responsible to think about your future when you spend money. Real Americans spend more money then they have and let the chips fall where ever they land.

Only liberals would think that spending money so that you can save money in the future, and protect your grandchildren, is a good idea. I don't need an education to know having $175 now is worth more then saving $300 in a few years.

Yeah! Everyone knows that Global warming doesn't exist...

I mean look at this proof:

When I turn on my stove, and cook my food, the temperature in my house doesn't change! All that extra heat that I produce just disappears when I turn the stove off.

Just because 97% of smart, college-educated, scientists and the people from nasa says global warming is real, doesn't mean it is. They also said that the world is round and that the earth rotates around the sun.

Everyone knows that the earth is more of a square shape, and the sun is just God smiling and watching us all day.

Of course they will just all move to china.

It is much smarter to spend 30% more money shipping their products across the world then it is to spend 15% more money on energy costs.

Can someone provide a list of the Representatives that just voted in support of this steaming pile? We need to make it easier for the voters to run this morons out of office in 2010.

Yeah! Just because we have been talking about this bill for two months doesn't mean any of the senators were supposed to pay attention!

Just close your eyes for two months, ignore your job to pay attention to the process of this bill being created, and vote on it!

You must be out of your flippin' mind...this thing increases energy costs, will cost jobs, and is TERRIBLE legislation. There is growing public anger over the ill advised policies being pushed out of Pelosi, Reid, Durbin et al. How Mark Kirk could be on the fence about this issue is unbelievable. When are voters going to wake up and vote these people out of office? There is no scientific proof that there is a man made global warming problem. I would suggest reading today's Wall Street Journal for discussion of how Europe and Australia are reacting to their own silly legislation. Unfortunately it appears that more jobs will need to be lost to India and China and energy prices increase further before people wake up.

Ya know, come to think of it, how are carbon credit, cap and trade schemes any different from the "Indulgences" sold by the Catholic church in the middle ages?

Sin is bad, but if you pay us a small fee, you can buy your way out of the sin's ramifications on your immortal soul.

Carbon is bad, but if you give us government types a little more money and power, then it's ok to pollute.

Contact your Representatives and Senators. Voice your position in no uncertain terms.

Regardless of the House vote, today? insure they understand your position.

I defy any person to associate a legitimate Constitutional authority for the imposition of this draconian money/ power grab.

Of cources global warming is a scam!

That is because chemisty, physics, and biology are also scams!

We all know that computers work because God tells them too. There is no such think as "electricity". Tthat is just something that was made up so that corporations can profit off of Gods power to turn on your appliances.

If Global warming is a scam, electricity has to be also, because they are both based off of the same principles of energy consumption.

Everyone knows that energy just dissipates when you are done with it, there is not such thing as heat, and Einstein was just some Jew who tricked everyone into believing his cult.

If you take power from the gas company, and turn on your stove to heat your food, does your house warm up?

So if you take power from the ground and burn it to create electricity, why wouldn't the earth warm up?

Please explain how these two situations are different.

Notice how the term "Global Warming" has now mutated into "Climate Change"?

Too many global warming protesters standing in a blizzard changed all that.

The original '70s climate protesters swore that a new ICE AGE would soon be upon us.

Yeah!

Why should we pay money so that our children's future is better?

I hate my kids, and I hope my pollution gives them cancer!

I totally agree with you people who think this is going to cost too much money! My kid's lives aren't worth a dime, and i care even less about your kids, and whiny minority kids.

In fact, lets pollute more so that we can just kill of all humans all together! Bring on the apocalypse!

There is no scientific proof that there is global warming!

Just because 97% of all scientist say it exists and that they scientifically can prove it doesn't mean we should listen!

It is easy to prove something isn't real if you just close your eyes tight enough and ignore the facts like me!
