I'm so tired of hearing about the Illinois House Committee's approval to extend the rate freeze. Where have they been for the past 10 years? Apparently scratching their heads because they couldn't come up with a good plan. They should have allowed the rates to increase on a gradual basis vs. now shocking everyone needlessly as the increase is equivalent to $1 more per day. We waste that on fast food, driving around needless on these high gas prices, etc. LET the freeze go through and stay out of it, you've done enough damage already!

I hope you have a deep pocket i for one don't though and I do not envy the thought of freezing all winter and seeing where hundreds of elderly freeze to death because they couldn't afford to run their heat. I have electric heat and if they get what they want i could be paying three times what I'm paying now. Being single raising kids this is not in my budget. I don't think they have to freeze people to death and make people homeless just to line there already thick pockets. Boo to Ameren and it's mother company for being so greedy.
