Hope no one buys this. One man falls on his sword, goes to another corporate position in another state, and we dumb Vermonters forgive and forget? I don't think so.

For his new job, we should give him a "glowing recommendation"

We won't be fooled by this distraction, so what Entergy fired a top executive. That makes me feel sooo much safer?
The man made radioactive water is still there in the ground and no one knows the scope of this contamination, and if they did why would they tell us?
Entergy lied about these pipes to the Feds and to the people of Vermont, now its time to hold Entergy and the NRC accountable until this plant is shut down and properly cleaned up. That means you also Mr Douglas should be held accountable to make sure this ancient plant is decommissioned safely with Entergy dollars not on the backs of the taxpayers of Vermont!

Jay Thayer was not an employee of Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee. Formerly he had been site Vice President however that was before Mr Sullivan and Mr. Coulomb. Last year in the Public Service Board hearing room, under oath, this writer found it amusing that our state regulatory body spent 12 minutes as Mr. Thayer attempted to explain for whom he worked - the answer was not Vermont Yankee.

Perhaps he will join forces with Mike Mulligan and others who were let go for poor job performance?

LOL, but he won't need one, I hear he is being scouted by the coalition. They will assign him a desk to share with Mike Mulligan :)

No reasonable person will accept this as something good that VY has done. It is time to close VY NOW. Thankfully we will also soon have a new Governor, unfortunately not soon enough!

Anyone else here smell a martyr being thrown on the fire?

I don't believe for a minute that Entergy was not involved in the lies told. This is primarily an Entergy issue; VY people are merely doing what they're told by their owners.

The whitewash begins. They'll probably just rotate him south and give him a bonus. Meanwhile, the culture of dishonesty and corner-cutting continues. Meanwhile, an undetermined amount of tritium and possibly other contaminants is spreading in a plume from the decrepit plant to the surrounding environment.

You are right, I'd know how it feels with getting caught in a terrible situation and group behavior.
