Dear Mr. Leonard, in case you hadn't noticed, Vermonters and downwinders are VERY focused on their long-term best interests. And we are quite clear that they require stopping the production of hazardous nuclear wastes, both the "stored" kind, and the routinely spewed into the environment kind, and the secretly spilled into storm drains only one of which is monitored for radioactivity kind, and leaked out of ancient buried pipes kind where we hope no one will notice since...Shhhh....we don't know about the existence of any such pipes-kind. It is obvious you don't really care about VY employees, Mr. Leonard, or you wouldn't want them exposed to the dangerous leaking radioactive waste which they bring home to their wives and kids each night, tracked from those utterly contaminated buildings and site. But oh, I forgot. There is no risk from exposure to radiation unless you are actually exposed to radiation, did I get that right?

No, there is no risk from exposure to radiation unless you get much more than you will ever get from Vermont Yankee. That is why you can eat bananas, fly in airplanes and live near coal-fired nuclear power plants. That is also why the people who live in the seven highest radiation states consistently have among the lowest age-adjusted cancer mortality rates in the United States.
