Full story: Brattleboro Reformer

Entergy announced on Monday that it plans to "unwind" the business infrastructure set up to accommodate the spinoff of five of its nuclear power plants into an independent company.

Imagine that... nobody fell for that shell game that would have saddled ratepayers with dying plants and awarded millions to shareholders on a phony "business" creation.

Entergy is learning that sometimes you cannot fool much of anyone any of the time.

True. How they made it as far as they did was what surprised me.

This was not just a 'spin off'. It was a mere shell game and company on 'paper'.

A company selling itself to itself as LLC to stick states w/cleanup costs and the ruination of their nuke poisoned states while stockholders and corporate laugh all the way to bank w/the profits.

How they ever thought they could pull wool over everyones eyes truly laughable.

I hope everyone takes a good long look @ these corporate weasels and refuses to do business w/them and their corrupt cronies.

Gee, Little Rock oddly seems to have so much interest in the affairs of our tiny state. Hmm.

If you actually bothered to read any of the NY decision, you would have noted that this "stick states w/cleanup costs" never entered the picture. You know why? Because it's a non-issue made up by people like Shumlin and Shadis and you gullible idiots swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.

You are too ignorant to realize the Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee is already an LLC which is another reason your argument is invalid.

Stupid is as stupid does I guess.

Entergy did not 'do what we wanted them to'-they were forced and had no choice, as everyone sees it for the sham it is and the weasels they are.

I worked for a GE company once. Our division got spun off, and no it wasn't nuclear - the stock options were great. For once, I actually made some money. You're right - zzzz - it's not always a bad thing.

I suggest you do your own reading. My statement accurate. The main issue was concern about the new LLC not having the finances to decom, or pay for unforseen problems. Decision on behalf of ratepayers and taxpayers-this should have at least been a clue if reading plain English not enough. Had you read the articles and followed it from jumpstreet you would not be making your ludicrous comments now would you.

"Senate President Pro Tempore Peter Shumlin, D-Windham, who led the Senate’s February vote against Vermont Yankee, said Enexus would have been a bad deal.“There’s no doubt Spinco/Enexus was intended to stick Vermont taxpayers with the bill for Entergy’s scheme to line their stockholders’ pockets with money,” he said.“All Vermonters should celebrate that it’s dead.”"
http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20...

"Ever since SpinCo/Enexus was first mentioned, I understood this was a carefully-hatched Wall Street scheme to ensure Vermonters paid for stockholders' profits at Entergy," said Shumlin, whose home district includes the Vernon reactor, and who is one of five Democrats running for governor.

Shumlin and others had criticized the plan saying with the high level of debt the company was taking on, it would leave little financial margin if something went wrong at any one of the five plants, which included six reactors. The reasoning was the new company would be in financial straits and leave little or no money for decommissioning the reactors."

Not enough info? Here's some more. They all say the same thing no matter where it is located, just to save you all the trouble looking for this 'mythical decision'.

I would watch that 'stupid' and 'ignorant' You love hurling so much, keeps hitting the fan and flying back in your face.

RE decision: "New York officials' concerns were centered on whether the new company would have a strong enough balance sheet to ensure the continuing operation of the plants in New York and their eventual decommissioning."

http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/company-news-story...

Matters not whether WSJ, NASDAQ or Shumlin said it-truth still the truth.

In your silly strategy, you rely on and expect others to be too lazy, stupid, or not to know where to look to do research.

When this is done, your false information becomes quite clear. Please stop calling everyone 'liars' as all you do is get busted and prove your own dishonesty.

it did strike me as odd that "the more beagles" caught the LLC part, but didnt think about the finances of LLC's...
and he calls folks dummy...

maybe the NRC can explain to him that all LLC are not the same...

and LLC's do not occur naturally...

All of these Entergy/Yankee cheerleaders have a common thread of dishonesty. They are as slippery as a snake. Imagine claiming the demand to block portions of 'report' as 'actually insuring its release'. Yeah, right. Insuring the release of what they wish to release.

The report, consisting of asking employees 'if they knowingly lied or mislead investigators'. Too funny.

On and on it goes. Lie after lie-er, excuse me,'falsehoods','misunderstand ings'and 'miscommunication'.

I think we all know what a load of crap looks and smells like no matter what the choose to call it.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Honestly, you must the dumbest person who can actually use a computer I've ever seen.

How you get from "A company selling itself to itself as LLC to stick states w/cleanup costs and the ruination of their nuke poisoned states" to the NY PSC's concerns about debt loading is a hilarious. Every time you f#ck up, you always try to avoid what you originally said.

Why must you always find a convenient filter for you information? I call out Shumlin in my initial reply and then you proceed to quote him as gospel? Why not go to the source material? Unable to understand it?

even though you dont deserve it...a warning...
I'd watch it with this...
you are about to make an even bigger fool of yourself...

you Do get that different LLC 's have more and less assets right?
that they are not all the same?
that spinoffs like this are often to shelter assets from upcomming liabilities...like chrysler's spinoff in bankrutpcy shafting the current lawsuits for defects?
you DO get this right?

Back for more? I used WSJ and NASDAQ for sources. Shumlin said the same thing they did.

The 'debt loading' would have reduced the financial margin available for cleanup, decom and malfunctions, which are inevitable as they are all falling apart, have reached the end of life cycle and are now worthless. This deal would have dumped a lot of the responsibility on tax and ratepayers-the whole reason for this scheme.

Good God, you are getting worse every day. Now we are unable to read plain English and you must be spoonfed the whole article one sentence at a time?

This rationale for the decision is the whole point but yet it has either escaped you, or you seem to think you can, w/your insults and word-twisting, call black white and white black and convince the stupid and gullible you actually know what you are talking about. Lots of luck, keep trying.

while I would give most people the benefit of the doubt...

you do understand that different LLC's have differing assets and liabilities RIGHT?

Long way to go? You do it all the time. Pants around ankles? Mirror, mirror.

Nice dodge. When no facts available change subject and hurl insults. The table keeps getting turned on you beacause you're too blind to see it coming.

So focused on taking out percieved enemy at all costs are blinded to all else. Anger blows out the light of teason. Victim of your own devices. Godfather and Shakespeare come in handy. Read them and learn something.
