As a Long time listener to WCMF since Wease come on the airwaves' I admit it would be great to hear Kane-O back as a "fan" of his & enjoyed him for as long as Wease. Each have their own personalities and mode of entertainment platforms. I find the "possible" return of Kane-O a bit corporate based and question it. Since the loss of Wease & Kane-O I have gone elsewhere on the dial not for spite, but lack of quality radio in the Rochester market. The loss of Wease & Kane-O lead me to other selections on my dial including Sirius radio which I have now. Corporate needs to listen, do you hear me, or US?. For Kane-O, I hope the best & Wease as well but never exclude the listener on the gavel of decision making.

I think that WCMF forgot a saying that still holds water. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Radio has long lost it's interest in the listeners. I know that they are a business and money is their goal but if there's no listeners, then there's no money. What coorperate WCMF is doing will bite them in the end. I really can't believe that Kane-O even considered coming back. I just can't believe that with his personality, he couldn't have moved on. Now, like mentioned before, he's faced with less money and more responsibility. Kane-O, you're a much better radio personality than that. I hope all goes well with you.

I for one am very happy about the return of Kane-O. WCMF just isn't the same without him. It's a smart move on thier part to bring him back. I'm looking forward to the Mid-day Mambo again. WELCOME BACK KANE-O!!!

Why was my earlier post deleted?? Let me clean it up and see if it's the choice of words or the critical content that's a problem. Why can't we point out corporate hypocrisy without being censored? I didn't think that Entercom owned WHEC-TV (yet)!! Anyway, on to my original post....

Hey - congrats to Entercom on reaching a new slimy low! Just 3 months ago, they disgraced a radio legend by firing him and forcing him to leave the job that he loves in shame... and now tomorrow they schedule a "MAJOR ON-AIR ANNOUNCEMENT" to inform us that after extensive interviews for his OWN (obscenity deleted) JOB they have rehired him for less money and more responsibility - and it looks like they expect us to shower them with roses as a kind hearted local company that truly CARES about it's listeners and employees.

(obscenity deleted), Entercom! We know what you are: corporate, formulaic, scripted, bottomline motivated and arrogant. Thanks for ruining the last bastion of unique radio on the Rochester dial.

Good to have Kane-O back. Really missed him ... he was the only one on WCMF I listened to anyways ... and stopped when they booted him. He knows how to spin music!

Good for kane-o for getting his job back, hope he didn't have to settle for a pay cut.

There's a little community for wease fans, keeping the conversation going until he's back on the air.

Wow folks, if you don't like the radio station, then don't listen to it. There's plenty of others around. No need for the hateful comments for crying out loud!

Hey, leave the personal attacks outta here! She's entitled to use whatever phrases she wants. You so young that you don't know that "spin music" is what DJ's have done for years?

I think you miss the point. There are no longer "plenty of others around" worth listening to locally.

I wait for nice cloudy days for my crummy radio to better tune in out-of-town stations. Then I get to work and listen to even further out-of-town stations online. These stations haven't forgotten that programming doesn't come out of some computer formula, but from people who love music. I *listen* to their stations *and* their advertising, though the advertisers are also out-of-town and I am unlikely to be their target audience.

There is something wrong with this picture. Maybe sattelite radio is the ultimate answer, but that would be truly sad.

I still don't see the need for the hateful comments. So invest in a CD player and play whoever you want. I have no problem finding another station to listen to, and I regularly go through 3-5 stations. When one goes into a commercial, I go to another one. All are local. And one is WCMF.

It's pretty sad when you get sick of the local stations. 4 years ago I got fed up with all the soap operas on WBEE and started listening to on line stations from other cities. I couldn't beleive how much better the variety was. Satelite radio is next.

That means the reporter called and left a voice mail... it's really a non-statement. We all leave voice mail...
