Finally a maturing of attitude within the El Paso community. Now we need for the "education" of the public to support and "use" this planned system. Could this really be a move into the 21st century at last?

All we need now is an NBA team, the El Paso Sun-Slingers or name the team what you will but I'd love to see the transformation of this city include a professional franchise. This money for our community is excellent and long overdue but these should be exciting times for our citizens. I just hope the infusion of so much money does not create a run for the border from our sister country!

Wow, how many El Pasoans are gonna be able to get a good paying job from this funding. Or are they gonna bring in out of town labor to do $15 per hour duties. I feel so bad for El Paso never getting a break from the poverty envelope.

what mass transit, where? Light rail, subway, people mover, monorail, these constitute mass transit, not a stupid bus system. What idiocy.
Its about time

..for this to be happening. Yes I support toll roads if necessary, but let's make sure the plan is well done. I would hope that the rail system would be using the current lines we have from East to West. Putting a westside terminal and using the freeways IS part of rapid transit.
Gotta start somewhere... But we have to make sure that its well planned out that's the key.

i hate the idea of toll roads!! ugh!! the whole idea behind toll roads is just exclusionary and money making. everyone pays for the roads so everyone should be allowed to use them. roads are not meant for profit they are a public service!!! when are we gonna tell special interests to take a hike and go make money off someone else?

Toll Roads? In El Paso ? For what purpose? The Toll Roads once built will be sold to a private out of El Paso interest and more tha likely if they are dumb enough probably some sovereign fund .

The construction, design, labor will all in the main be from out of El Paso or cousins of Eddie and Sylvester. The toll revenues will be transient and go elsewhere, there is no basis for double decking I-10, nor spending the $10 million that Joycee wants to spend planting blooming marijuana plants to beautify the drive "THRU" El Paso. El Paso is not a destination city, oasis or mecca, never has been and never will.

Hueco Tanks, Elephant Butte,Carlsbad Caverns, Leon Metz, UTEP, Don Onate or any of the other Travellers, the Fazio designed links, the zoo more famous for beating on elephants and feeding other exhibits to local stray dogs because the City despite His Honorless and Joycee at the helm can't contol them as much as they do the dumb struck minions that swallow that Democrat BS. All of these together do not have enough drawing power to sustain other than the trickle of visitors that we get now, who for in the most part come to the city not as a first choice were it not for the fact that they are probably visiting some relative wo in actuality would rather be somewhere else.

An NBA team? Have you not learned the lessons provided by Jim Paul? A true professional sports franchise, MLB, NFL, Hockey never, never. Despite all the campaigning done by locals to draw the BOYS to town for their camps if not an actual game, no luck at all! Why is that? Why would the BOYS rather go to California or anywhere else than El Paso which has been down on our knees begging and enticing to Jerry and yet no?

Then there is the guru who says finally a planned system which only requires public support and education. That is a mouthful to say the least.
What that boils down to is that more of our money will be spent in pulling the wool over our eyes to convince us just how important of a leap into the future this projec will be. Planned systems- we have plenty of planned systems in El Paso now and none of them work and all demand more money each year to continue in their inefficiency and the have the council tell us how great they are:
School districts, storm water, engineer department, street department, parks, city and county councils.

I'm sure this will be much better, we now get to pay not only our taxes which went or are going to go into this MASS Transit plan, be charged for using roads which we pay for, then sell then or in PC parlance "Oustource" the operation to a third party. I can see the eyes of the vultures now spinnimng like slot wheels with $ signs.

It is amazing all the publicity about the negative impact and inhumane actions to enforce our borders, the same people don't want to take care of the wounded form our sister city and probably the same mix that supports this blindly.

This is definitely the step into the future and will bring El Paso to the world's attention.
