It's more expensive, because El Paso is the farthest from the Gulf, where most of it is shipped from. That's why Corpus Christi's is cheap.

So much complaining ...

Although "El Paso, Taxes" is probably too funny.

Bob, out here you don't ask "why". We just assume it's price gouging allowed to run wild by politcos who could do something about it. And it is PRICE GOUGING by these El Paso stations. When the National average is down to $2.36, why would El Paso still be $2,59,$2.69,$2.75???? Not even considering the National average, gas is cheaper EVERYWHERE else in Texas. From Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, El Dorado, Lampassas, Brady, Iraan on up to Amarillo, Lubbock. When their were price increases, the prices change 10-15 cents in a matter of few hours. When prices started dropping, much different story, takes days for prices to drop. When it comes to gas, politics or politicians, El Paso just gets screwed. The people just accept it's like that everywhere, since El Paso is 500 miles from water and 600 miles from NOWHERE.

Hmmmm....Highest gas prices in the state and Mayor Cook's buddy at Western Refining (Paul Foster) just raked in a 134% profit increase for the third quarter ( http://www.elpasotimes.com/newupdated/ci_1091... ). Coincidence?
