Wow, those rates ARE still low. As I said, UTEP does need to focus on quality in the students it admits via increasing admissions standards, and it definitely needs to increase those graduation rates. As far as cost goes, I've taught at several universities, and UTEP is by far the most affordable, but not many in the area seem to realize this because they don't have access to points of comparison.

I would like to see UTEP gain tier 1 status, but it can't disregard undergraduate studies or the university's problems of student quality and retention.
