State Senator Eliot Shapleigh suggests that victims of Juarez violence should be transported to VA hospital instead of Thomason Hospital so that local taxpayers don't have to pay.
The Va hospital should be fo veterans and not for any Tomas, Ricardo and Maria that shows up at the front door. Slipping the burden from the locals to the federals is not the answer. It's like taking from Pedro to pay Pablo. In the end it remains a debt to someone.

Senator Shapleigh, suggest something with more substance and deeper imagination. The taxpayer is bankrupt -or close to it.

Over 70% and growing every day say legalize marijuana.

Servants of tyranny obstruct the will of the people and try to con us into believing they "care" while they waste our precious lives and resources - a con used by servants of tyranny, throughout history to make it look like they (the tyrants) have a conscience.

True servants of the people, true patriots stand against fear mongering lies and propaganda. They stand against policies that waste our precious lives and limited resources.

No spillover? huh...

Prohibition's legacy is legend in the waste of our precious lives and resources. Deaths and needless injuries happen too often in botched paramilitary drug raids. Overzealous, unconscionable to the extreme, situations are occurring! http://www.cato.org/raidmap/

In San Antonio DEA agents shot innocent 14-year-old Ashley Villarreal in the head, but deny any wrongdoing. Also in San Antone businessman who had rented a house to the Mexican consulate was kidnapped and is now thought
murdered.

A young college grad, Rachel Hoffman, coerced by police to act as an informant after she was arrested for marijuana possession was killed by the drug dealers following a botched drug sting.

The violence and corruption triggered by our insane drug policy will end with repeal just as the bloody massacres triggered by alcohol prohibition disappeared after the Volstead Act was licked.

I beg you to help end the worst public policy since slavery; repeal prohibition. Murderers and other violent predators roam free, while we police nonviolent social, medicinal and religious drug use. This is not the
best use of our limited resources.

Get tough on violent crime, truly make our neighborhoods and children safer. We want a better drug policy. We want a Commander and Chief of Peace. We have had enough of servants of tyranny and oppression.

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition has kicked off the 'We Can Do It Again' project, calling for an end to drug prohibition.

There would be no spillover if there was no war on drugs. Repeal drug prohibition. Its time to bring some common sense back to public policy.

El paso should take the bite on this. They wanted to help the mexicans and they did. So they should shut up and stop thier belly aching. And if you morans think this is just about drugs your wrong. This is about the economy, illegal immagrants and then the drugs. In the past year alone over a 100 trucks were stolen and said to be in juarez. Over 24 billion un-taxed U.S. dollars was sent to mexico by illegal workers. Taxes that was lost and will never be recovered. The smugling is more than drugs, and guns. It also include human traffican, humans that are forced into sex trade and harsh labor. And all this works hand in hand, they intertwine with each other and needs to be stoped now.

Actually, William Beaumont is a military hospital located close to Ft. Bliss. From a security standpoint, it would be more feasible to provide adequate security. Senator Shapleigh is absolutely correct that the local taxpayers should not have to foot the bill. Additionally, it is somewhat disconcerting to see sandbagged gun emplacements around a civilian hospital

Why would we want to treat mexicans anyway? mexicans say mexico is a great modern country. So why cant they provide adequate medical services. Could it be that mexico is not the jewel they claim it is? Could it be that mexico is a pathetic 3rd world country? The answer is an absolute yes. mexico needs to step up to the plate!!! However, Im afraid that will not happen since they are just too corrupt, lazy and stupid.

The sad thing is is that Perry has no idea of what is going on here. Barrio Azteca--they are a prison gang running things from inside prison. Figure out how to stop that. Medical treatment at Thomason?--at least the hospital recovered one million of the 1.4 million in treatment it gave. Austin will start worrying about the problem when it reaches Austin and no sooner. I've lived in Austin and when they have a problem it is taken care of ASAP. We are like the stepchild of Texas. If there is anything left we will get it. Governor Perry's reign in Texas needs to end. Come on voters--let's get out there!!

I think that Mexico should take care of thier own!! We should not allow ppl in Juarez to come to our hospitals and not pay for it. We as a nation have taken care of other countries...its time to take care of our own!!! If they are not a US citizen they should not be allowed to come across to our hospitals. And Texas should not reimburse or give any kind of extra money to El Paso because they choose to take care of the drug lords!!!
