Very true!
Border politics...you gotta love it. Too bad we don't have the Anglo political boss telling us how to vote, & least then we would be upset about who runs our county...

Mr. White El Paso is already safe, thanks to our local law enforcement. Find another bone to give to El Paso voters.

Bill White will probably get the Democratic nomination, then lose in the General Election to either Governor Perry or Senator Hutchinson.

El Paso more than likely will go with Bill White, since the Shami campaign is being run by a local advertising agency that is just placing media ads and signs. The agency is just spending Farouk's money so that they can get the ad commission. There is no grasroots campaigning at all.

After Bill White's loss he will try to recycle himself for yet another campaign.

Bill White's glory days are of the past.

What an outstanding candidate who is the only candidate educated at Harvard and graduate school at another Texas tier 1. He is a down to earth guy who has solid solutions.

He is not a Perry or Hutchison type (unsubstantial aggie cheerleader) with irrelevant degrees.

Texas needs solutions not the spin and irresponsiblity of poor priorities of the last decade.

"The first line for local safety should be our local police and the sheriff department, and I will work with those law enforcement,"

"What I hear from the people of El Paso is that they would like more help with the police and sheriff rather than more National Guard," he said. "We don't want to militarize the border; instead we want strengthen the local communities."

Translation: I will not deal with illegal immigration.

You sure as hell won't get solutions from Rick Perry or Kay Bailey Hutchison!

Not a single candidate knows what El Paso needs.

All they do is come here and promise jobs & more law enforcement.

El Paso is unique, we are closer to California than we are to Dallas.

Being next to Juarez, El Paso is like living in Mexico except under United States rule. The citizens love it, especially the undocumented that have lived here for years and that have multiplied like rabbits. You can't beat the free food stamp, free public housing, free medical care and especially the free education for the rug rats.

El Paso is the New Juarez.

We really don't need to listen to a governor candiate. We already get what we want.

El Paso might be considered the 2nd safest city but thats only because they are lax on prosecution and on classifying crime.

What they dont factor in is the amount of deaths caused by Intoxication incidents. El Paso has a drunk driver problem and a DA Jamie Esparza who doesnt prosecute worth a damn. Only in El Paso can a man be arrested for his 10TH DWI, all in El Paso, and never served a day in Jail thanks to Esparza and his cronies.

Esparza makes it so difficult for Law Enforcement to arrest anyone in El Paso. Not to mention the city is OWED 150 MILLION traffic fines....Second safest city my ass

Once again, read the Newspaper Tree article, the orginal report and EP's city govt web site. EP is the 2nd safest city of its size NOT the 2nd safest city in the US. There were other cities of various sizes that were safer than EP.

In any case, the two main candidates are slick enough to sell ice boxes to Eskimos. One, the President didnt want to meet and the other didnt want to meet the President. WHATACHOICE!
