Invest in a trade or skill. Learning something and putting it to use will have a better chance of earning some $$. But it is so much easier to just buy a 1 to 3 million chance ticket. Que paso paisanos?

Put your money to good use or save for a rainy day. I'm pretty sure the majority of you voted for Obama. You don't have to resort for hope to win the lottery. Remember, he is your hope for change. He will spread the wealth. Just sit tight and wait for those checks in the mail.

Really? Investing in the lottery? More like throwing your money away. According to the article, El Pasoans spend over $21 a month. That's over $250 a year. Why not place that money in the bank and collect some interest? Unfortunately, most people who "invest" in the lottery are not financially stable to afford throwing their money away.

Lottery = tax on stupid/poor people.

If they government said "we are going to charge every poor person/ignorant fool $5 per week", there would be a civil war and riots in the street. All they have to do is call it a lottery and people stand in line to hand over their $5 or $20. what a bunch of idiots.

The recession hasn't affected those on welfare roll and food stamps. They haven't had to tighten their belts at all. Liquor stores, lottery tickets, they have as much business as they ever had.

The people who can least afford to gamble, are willing to risk it against very long odds. If they aren't already on welfare, and food stamps, they soon will be.

Now if the government can figure out how to receive the money from the lottery, they could recover much of the money spent on welfare, and food stamps.

Of course, the mob running the lottery wouldn't go along with this takeover attempt.

Nationalize all gambling, including the lotteries.

How depressing. Just more evidence of how basically stupid El Pasoans are.

The lottery is a RIPOFF, and if you don't know that, you are an INNUMERATE MORON. Any questions?

Now get out of my way at the convenience store! If you want to throw your money away, do it in the parking lot!
