Charge them double? That is a natural gas plant, not gasoline refinery. If it were a refinery, it would lead to lower fuel prices. I'm sure you knew that though. This is probably the best thing to come into that community in a century. EOG: Energy, Opportunity, Growth.

At one time that is what it stood for, before they split in 1996(I believe). If there were any affiliation with the Enron that was shut down, the SEC would have shut them down also. Lucky for those in Bowie and the rest of the Barnett, EOG is a great company with a great reputation. Today EOG stands for: Energy, Opportunity, Growth.

EOG Resources, Inc.(EOG), formerly Enron Oil & Gas Company, adopted a new name and declared its independence from Enron Corp. Simultaneously, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Forrest E. Hoglund retired, Mark G. Papa was elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Edmund P. Segner was named President and Chief of Staff of EOG. STRAIGHT FROM THE WEBSITE!!!!

OK, Look "Bowie".... Before you start stating things that you know NOTHING about, maybe you should do a little research FIRST!! Just FYI...EOG Resources, currently stands for ENERGY OPPORTUNITY & GROWTH... So, in case you have not watched the news or done any research on EOG let me tell you a little bit about them... The Officers of EOG did NOT work or have any connections to ENRON!!! EOG has made quite the name for themselves in the natural gas industry and THANKS to them, Johnson County, Texas has became a much better place to live since EOG and others like them came into town... Because of EOG, many families that were once very poor and the only thing they owned was a little bit of land are now making royalties and therefore spending money at local stores and also able to pay taxes and the list goes on and on.... The benefits FAR outweigh any of the negative!!! I'm not sure what has happened to your Dad but i will say that if he has the same attitude as you then I can see how he has not been able to get anywhere with them..... Try to keep in mind that the company you are bashing, apparently (according to you)wants to drill on there land and in return give them a royalty off of the wells.... It's people like you that make it difficult and in the end, it's people like you that will end up with nothing (HOPEFULLY)... Don't complain when they want to access your property because at the end of the day will it really matter that they came on your property when you have just opened an envelope with a $10K dollar check??? Come on man, get real and help thy neighbor and also treat others as you want to be treated, just like the good book says!!!=)

hey burley i guess johnson county gets it a LOT better than montague! and you made a BUNCH of ASSumptions. come up here and see what the salt water trucks are doin. come up here and see the feilds that cant be worked because of siesmograph lines. come up here and listen to the lies.

you say poor people can now spend money in local stores. the only local store is WALMART

you say "they" want to drill on there land, NO its just a seismographical test, in the contract they specified no drilling.

you say i havent done reasearch, I HAVE!!! see my posts!! click my link!! read post #9

"It's people like you that make it difficult and in the end, it's people like you that will end up with nothing (HOPEFULLY)..." man that a heck of a thing to say!!! thats like sayin i hope that bad things happen to you, or i hope good things DONT happen to you!! now i WASNT AT ALL bashing you. and you have to be degradatious and inflamitory. let me tell you buddy, thats no way to win an argument!!

"the end of the day will it really matter that they came on your property when you have just opened an envelope with a $10K dollar check???" yes it will matter, sub-leasing mineral right from right-of-way property, evidently you might not grasp what that really means.it maens NO MONEY for you money only for holder of right of way!! you do your own reasearch into that, HERE in montague county!!!

and lastly the good book tells us not to lie, cheat, steal, covet, a good many number of things.

If your argument had been better, had you tried to persuade me in stead of possibly trying to "TELL" me how it is, i could possibly give your points a litte thought. but the way you come across is not condusive to discussion!!

im quoting here, " people like you"
"things i know NOTHING about""same attitude as you"and "come on man" so as you say"treat others as you want to be treated". so you want me to treat you the way you treated me. here goes

form your thoughts, make valid points, use PARAGRAPHS!!!! we were ALL taught grammar, some of us use it!

You certainly ASS-u-me many things, some of which, you would certainly have no knowledge of, such as trespassing, a serious offense which many LOCAL homeowners(something YOU would have NO way of KNOWING) have been raising as a subject at the county commisioners court.the sub-leasing, the road deterioation, the increased fatalies on the hiways from tanker truck wrecks and mishaps and many other subjects like salinization of DRINKING WATER WELLS, dumping of sludge in our local sewer causing thousands of dollars of damage to our sewage plant, and then dumping sludge into OUR WATER SUPPLY, Amon Carter Lake.

things might be different in houston or burleson but around here its tough on us rural small-town
country folks. before you ASS-u-me anything come stay here for a while!!!

"salinization of DRINKING WATER WELLS,"

That's from salt water disposals mainly, not from gas wells. Other than that, and the blaming of some dumbass kid on a cell phone swerving in front of a tank truck on the truck driver, I agree.

"EOG Resources, currently stands for ENERGY OPPORTUNITY & GROWTH"

That made me laugh. He probably eats at McDonald's since they told him he's lovin' it.

EOG is putting in a SWD injection well between
two residents in Montague county. We are one of
them. They have changed the property line by
up to 20 feet on our property and ran fence line.
They have put a drainage pipe in that is directed
right at our Organic Growing Area. I think it
time for accountability with the Oil and Gas companies. It does employ many people and that
is good for the economy. At the end of the
day, if we don't take better care of the land,
and our percious natural resources such as water,
what will be left for the future generations? You can't Drink Oil and Gas...PS They also took out
many over 100 year old oak trees and pecan trees...

Did they offer to pay you? If so, did you accept?
