"Value-at-risk measurements, which JPMorgan pioneered during the 1990s, have many shortcomings -- and critics."

Pioneered! Great, businessmen with poor math skills and no moral compass leading the way. Most of your legitimate business schools do teach courses in ethics now a days, Yes? No?

I've been saying it since I was 18. The way these corporations are structured, only those who are politically connected can advance themselves. Everyone else is screwed. Skilling and Lay were buddies. Need I say more. Solarman, the ethics they teach in business schools are a joke.

Sadly, I fear you're right. I can remember about 25 or so years ago, many college and business schools were demanding all business schools have a mandatory business ethics curriculum. As Dr. Phil would say, "How's that working for ya?" The moral signal was screwed up from the beginning. It seems the major philosophy is, "If there isn't a specific law against a "business" practice, then it must be O.K" The adage, "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto to you." Has been perverted into, "Do as many as you can, before the loop holes are closed."
