I also did my physical in March, they obviously do more medicals than they need just in case some fail. I was told that the physical is only good for 120 days. Now I'm waiting for the next round and yes I will need to retake the physical. In all, it's been over a year since I first took the written exam.

The standard response is "the dept. is not hiring right now. You will be contacted when the dept. starts hiring again". There are CFR's I know who have waited up to 3 years.

Yea but I think they waited that long because there was a hiring freeze and they went on strike because of a new union contract

It wasn't a strike. Coned locked them out of their jobs and cancelled their benefits without warning.

Yoki, the csr test consists of several exams, including 2 part math, with and without calculator, writing, general things like reading meters, etc. if you pass they will contact you for a calls simulation test.

hello, does anyone have an idea on how I can receive a position in Conedison with an Endorsed diploma of Electrical Installation. I recently graduated from a trade school and have heard a few kids join into Conedison and my teacher who was in Local3 told me I could as well i just can't seem to find a position on the Conedison page that doesn't include a college degree since all i have is a high school diploma. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I need some advice. I just got selected to join the elevator union for local #3.
But I'm still interested in working for ConEdison as a GUW. Both are good union job's with steady work, Pay and Benefits. I'm a little confused and need some advice.

Why do you suggest that I go with local 3 elevators division instead on ConEdison.

Better apprenticeship, pay, pension, benefits and job security! Local 3 hands down!

Thanks for the advice. I've always been a little skeptical about the construction field because of the layoff. But I here local 3 elevators division is not as bad as the other fields, and don't really lay off as much. I figured conedison is a great company to work for and the stability is there.

Hey has anyone heard anything about the con edison CFR position because its been a very long wait with no updates or disclosure of any info what so ever. It is very sad how the people who are waiting for the position have their hopes and aspirations strung along with no remorse.
I dont understand how a test I administered with no ccorrelation to the number or workers needed. That is falsifying information and just wrong to attract people to a job have them go through all of these motions to then have them wait and say they are waiting for a postion to open up.

I could not agree more! A status update would be the professional thing to do. I do know that there is an effort to hire minority women. This may be slowing down the screening process

But what if you have gone through all the motions of tests, interview and medical. Now you are just waiting with no news or idea of what will transpire.
