The test is 5 parts. You keep moving on afetr passing each part. If u fail one part, U Fail and dont take the other parts. The last part is the hardest. Call Con Ed and ask for study guide or go to Barnes Noble. Think there was book to study. I took test 3 yrs ago. Got called now.

Thanks for the info. What was on the last part that was so hard? And do you remember what was on all 5 parts of the test? Thanks for all the info.

Does anyone know what the Physical Ability Test consists of for GUW? I took the test last Friday, and I am going to be scheduled for one soon.

When did you take the test? I chose a date for the PAT right after I passed. Then last Tuesday iI got an email saying that all of us needed to be rescheduled for that particular test. I havent heard anything since.

All of the information on the interview is in these forums. As for not having to take the driving test, do you have a CDL?

The Pat is a Physical Abillity Test. They want to make shure you are able to perform the physical part of the job. Climbing a ladder, picking up 90 lbs, that sort of thing.

Did you get accepted for Gas ops or Electric? I took the GUW already, I am just waiting to be called for the next part. I just wanted to know if you took the test on Jan 11th, or the 18th?

The test covers basic math, basic mechanics, map reading, grammar, and reading comprehension. Watch the time that you have left on each section and make sure you answer all of the questions. Use the scrap paper to make things easier. Make sure to take a break between sections to gather yourself. It helped me clear the cobwebs. Good luck.

How much time do they give on each section, when you mean basic mechanics? thanks again for helping me

Basic mechanics, like gear movement. Things like that. As for each section, any where from 20 to 40 mins, depending.

Did you apply for the openings posted in early December?
