Live in Mayfair Acres, Greenburgh (White Plains). Been without power since 10:15 p.m. Tuesday evening. Someone from Con Ed should have been in the area to give residents a status report on what had happened and how long it would be before power is renewed.

We’ve been without power on and off for 2 days. Can’t sleep in the heat yet still have to go to work. All our food in the fridge is worthless. COn Ed tells us to conserve energy so we do yet when we need it the most, like in the summer with 100 plus weather, they always seem to have sporatic brownouts and at least one blackout a year, yet our COn Ed rates keep rising. SInce they are the only game in town I guess we have no say in the matter. Hey politicians-you work for us not COn Ed - so do something about this!

Almost 48 hours without power and the ConEdison rep said his "gut" said not to look for electricity until Sunday. The storm happened on Tuesday night and they cannot get it done until probably Sunday. And then the rep had the nerve to tell me he thought it was "unprofessional" of me to call them to ask if ConEdison knew about when they would get to my area. I am uncertain which aspect (the no electricity still or the rep) says more about the company.

We were out of power for 5 days!
Con Ed reps consistently lied almost everyday in their automated messages saying that power would be restored that day, which it was not. then the message was repeated the next day.
I was also told that crews would be working through the night - that was another lie, as they never once worked throught the night.
Today I came across an online message that said Con Ed was offering dry ice in Porchester, if one does not have power how can one see online messages - duuh.
Con Ed needs to sort out their forward planning ops and PR. signed:
A very angry customer who has lost power 3 times for extended periods since December 2005
