Sorry the 1950s-70s are over. The liberals gutted St.Paul and it is an eroding dirty motel of tumbleweed plastic bags ,meter police, and scavengers.I would love to see more stores in downtown St. Paul. Used to come down here when I was a kid (from WI). No skyways but there was Woolworths, Kresge(sp?), Daytons & Donaldson's. I've been working downtown since 1995. My fav - Candyland!!! A few years ago there was Brauns & other women's stores. An Italian-style boutique sounds nice but what about non-management level women's clothing like Christopher Banks. A Target or Kohl's would be nice; wouldn't have to stop someplace else before going home.

I can tell you why DT STP is empty, it's because of the Joe Soucherays who want to turn STP into a "big small town". You chase away all of the clubs, transit and bars out of a town and you really have nothing except another 'burb.
