"The sidewalks are safe here," said Shannon Tyree, spokeswoman for the city's Public Works Department.

Perhaps Ms. Tyree should have read the article in which she was quoted. Difficult to say that they are safe when a person walking on them can find himself lying at the bottom of a muddy pit with paving bricks falling down on his head.

Shannon Tyree does not even work for the city. Misappropriated quote.

So much for the Union made label!

If you didn't have enought to worry about getting shot, mugged , or raped in that puke town, now it is even unsafe to walk anywhere! Be sure to build more transit so the train can fall down a sink hole! Need more Unions will be their cry so they can handle all the do-overs which will be on the nightly news report of slackers and wackers abusing the public taxes. Totally pathetic town full of Dumbocrats too stupid to know when they are getting the shaft without the kiss!!

Sometimes you have to look for the lesson in the things that happen to you every day. For the poor soul that took the crappy flop into the hole, might want to think about laying off the groceries.

I see Dave Tune, Chris Coleman and Public Works are doing a great job.

Now I can't even walk in downtown anymore.....or drive for that matter.

Maybe the news should do an investigative report on what pipes are not being inspected so this mayor and dunce Thune can act on our behalf.

What a joke.

Another T-Paw infrastructure collapse. Thanks T-Paw. If only you paid as much attention to MN issues as you do to Iowa ones.

Yeah Nick. I really liked the way your brother Bhris has been keeping those dedicated Public Works personnell so busy since he's been the Mayor. Just think how desolate St. Paul could be without such steadfact leadership. Sort of like Obama's leadership surrounding the Great Asian Carp Invasion, or the gun-runners from Mexico, of the Gunk on the Gulf,.........

Downtown St. Paul has been in decline for a long time. It just serves the government employees who race to their cars at 5pm each workday to get out of the creepy place back to their conservative-run suburbs. In between you have public buildings locked from the public, horribly unfriendly people, meter police watching visitors like a hawk while the loitering weirdos continue their 'activities' unabated. A classic liberal city.
