Well aint that just a fine how do you do... Continue to raise rates but close local office and inconvenince customers. O yeah you can pay over the phone out of your checking account for a SMALL Fee of $3.95. Imagine how much money is made with that Gimmick.

If you sign up for paperless billing online you can get the $3.95 fee waived, sounds good huh? Also if you do this you can see all your bills, both current and past ones online. One word of caution though, if you switch to paperless billing don't forget to check your email regularly because if you are late by one day with a payment you will shut off. Then to get electrical service again you will have to pay $250.00, as a security deposit, to have it turned back and don't forget the late fees and any outstanding monthly charges. On the other hand if you elect to have your bill sent to your home and don't use paperless billing you cannot see your current or previous bills online anymore. One would think "hope the dog doesn't beat me to the mailbox anytime soon for a snack" because my bill might become illegible and late again because I can't see it online anymore which might result in paying it late and suffering the same dreadful experience described above when paying the $3.95. Why do I get the feeling I'm in a catch 22 situation here? We donít really have a choice, or should I say stand chance with Duke Energy when it comes to satisfaction. Can anyone say monopoly bad!
