DOW has really been stepping up lately and demonstrating leadership in environmental stewardship and sustainability. I know they were also one of the founding members of the Clmate Action Partners,(CAP)major corporations that sent a letter to George Bush and voluntarily pledging to measure and reduce their green house gas emissions that cause global warming and climate change. Bravo to DOW for putting their money and effort behind their words. Most companies say they are supportive, not too many back it up with actions like this.
After reviewing Environmental Support Solutions,(ESS), website http://www.ess-home.com , I am really impressed about this company. From what I can see they are creating software that is being used around the world to help companies execute on their mission statements for reducing green house gases that contribute to climate change. A great example of the potential for U.S. companies to export environmental technologies worldwide. Treasury Secretary Paulson was recently in China and pushing them to open their markets to environmental techologies from U.S. companies. I think this represents a huge market opportunity and the potential of U.S. companies to replace the loss of manufacturing and other industries that have been lost to cheaper labor costs in Asia. I am going to keep my eye on this one. Are they public or private?
