Always around the holidays. Why do they cut jobs mainly around the holidays?

End of fiscal year. |

Why is it that underperformance and efficiency only strikes at the bottom of these coporations when all those poor working stiffs have no control over a missmanaged company by the corporate elite but always pay the price?

I know that question was rhetorical, but beyond the obvious reasons that the execs do the firing and poop rolls downhill, I think it's because we've lost our sense of labor solidarity. |
its power against bottom of the food chain. its like gravity, blame it on the law of nature. |

This is so typical. Every other day we hear about some big company "cutting" jobs.
Actually, th jobs are being shipped to China or some other slave labor country, but that fact is never mentioned on the TV news or print media. I wonder why? |
|
Re: slave labor comment: Many (most?) jobs getting shipped to India and China are anything but "slave labor" jobs. Many of these positions are actually costing as much or more than US positions.
Re: Cutting top or bottom... many more bottom available to cut... and a bunch of mid and hi-mid HAVE been cut; backfilled with younger, cheaper people. |

Stop using my name. Besides this is only one of a three phase layoff between now and June 2008. And the investors are happy, because our stock will go up, as they are sheeding wasted costs in labor. Good to them and good for free markets. Business must stay efficient and the idea of a sense of entitlement to such a high-paying job is ridiculous, it is about productions, efficiency and profit, that means employee performance. |
|
Sure efficiently and profitably produced a lot of TCDD. |

When does efficiency become inefficient? |
