It's too bad Charlie doesn't reward his employees for making him richer.

The people on their customer support desk get $11 an hour and the "supervisors" get $11.50. What a deal. They also get perks like baloons and candy bars for doing good on a customer call. Guess that's why their turnover rate is astronomical.

Charlie makes sure his employees are restricted to watching the Cartoon Network. Apparently he feels that is their mentality.

I forgot to mention to show how much Charlie cares about his employees, his security guards patrol the employee lots with radar guns and if you get caught speeding you are docked an hours worth of pay. Now that's incentive to want to work for and feel good about working for this cheap joint. Employees at Wal-Mart are treated better than Echostar.

HA! Isn't that the truth. If you are lucky you will get a nickel raise for you review.
Charlie is a greedy man, thats why his vp left him!
The insurance sucks, and they are far from family oriented....can you tell I am a bitter ex employee???

I can tell and I worked there myself for nearly three weeks. I quit because I got written up twice in one day for rolling the "wrong" chair back into the training room. Plus I really screwed up because I forgot to logoff the training terminal. Whew! You'd think I would have been deported the way the reacted to these supreme violations. I was just glad they didn't realize I left my plantronics headset at home that day otherwise they would have let me go right there. After my write-ups I made the decision to quit (after coming back the next day with my headset so they wouldn't charge me for it). This was at the Thornton Ops Center where the security guards are just waiting to open fire on any violators in their illustrious parking lot. Echostar sucks and is probably the worst company to work for at least in Colorado.

I worked there for 5 years!!! When I first started it was still a small company, and pretty laid back. No dress code, radios on our desks, not strict at all. It was almost like highschool.
When I left it was like a sweat shop. Is Hank still the security guard lol?

If I remember correctly he wore his badge on his belt and usually wore black t-shirts. He was at the top of the ramp just inside the building. Talk about a badge happy weekend warrior. The Cartoon Network was likely beyond his mental capacity.

You've got to worry about a man who's worth over 10 billion and can't take care of the people who got him there.

Even sadder is that he doesn't care. I hope he's reading these. There's a movie the man should see. It's called a Christmas Carol. Maybe he can learn from it. Charlie aka: Scrooge. What's even more amazing is that in all his years he hasn't learned that if he attempted to keep his employees, it would cost him millions less in the long run.

How long have you been there? Are you an exec? In sales or marketing? Because those are the only ones that make any money. How about you wait for your next review and see your 3% raise.
Or try to transfer and get an 8% raise and not even put you at the minimum for that position, oh but they will hire someone off the street starting at the min.
Pretty funny, because I know Managers that barely make 40k and work 60-70 hours a week.
Oh, how about their great health benefits now? Nice deductible!
I know because I worked there for almost eight years, I quit when they cut the benefits, that was the only reason I stayed for so long, they HAD decent bene's.
Good luck with that, you won't be there long, because eventually they will treat you like SHIT! It happens to the best of 'us'!

i just got hired by echostar and after reading all the reviews i am horrified. I am selected as a systems engineer. i still have to get the report of how much i am going to get paid but as of now i am loosing hopes. How can such a big enterprise become so shitty. A person should not be SO greedy. 10 billion is good enough man.
