A poor public policy for the poor in Texas

Full story: Corpus Christi Caller-Times

Our hearts are being tugged, nay, we want our hearts to be tugged, by the bell ringers, by the soulful looks of small children and the terrible thought that some poor family might be deprived of a warm meal on a cold night.

Just what is the freebie spout? Which ones would you stop? To many it appears it is the food stamps they want to stop. Since many of these are single women raising children, then I must ask, why were you there sticking your nose in and saying they had to have those children? When a young woman is not ready to have children, then she has no business bringing a child into this world that will be neglected and not cared for. Do you really feel you have done this child a favor by making sure that he was born.?

Through the foster program, I have seen some of these kids that you felt should be born. Do you have any idea of the scars these kids grow up and carry throughout their lives? I have seen the one that tells of the times he was hungry and went without food so his younger siblings would not be crying for more. I have seen and heard many more of these stories. If you care so much for these kids, then where are you when they need food?
