Demand Media Studios is not a reliable source of income. Say what you want about the copy editors, the format of the articles, the quality of the titles. Those things don't make much of a difference to me because I can find my way around them, personally. What I can't deal with is the indefinite pending time limit on articles I submit.

If you are thinking of joining Demand Media for financial reasons, think again. This should be purely a hobby because you can't count on the money. I could write ten articles but if nobody reviews them I have zero chance of getting paid. You could wait for several months before they get looked at.

I had high hopes of it becoming a job for me because when I first joined my freshman articles were picked up right away. As soon as my third one dropped, the entire user interface changed and now everything is pending indefinitely. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security with your first three articles!

Demand Media is a hobby that occasionally gives you money, NOT a job.
