Good food, but rather expensive. We don't get down their too often due to the prices.

We have the money but not for that place anymore.
This is for two reasons.
1. Trying to pull the race card, that just does not fly.
2. The push for republicans, remember dave was buddy buddy with bush.

Oh well let it close out and a new one will open.

And what race card would that be?

It happen so often, A restaurant open with a quality product at a fair price. Then before long the food quality falls and prices rise and you have a crappy restaurant. A few examples.....Don Pablo's, Ciati's, Olive Garden, and now Famous Dave's....Over rated and over priced.

Perhaps they are "over priced" because everything is going up in price. Produce, meat, dairy not to mention the extra cost of transportation of products has risen quite a bit.

Also Dave Anderson is not really involved with Famous Daves much any more. He has a new buisness venture in IL. A water park type of vacation spot.

Here in Minnesota, there is not exactly an overabundance of BBQ joints. This is not Memphis where great Q can be found without much difficulty. And don't even get me started on how you can get "ribs" at a steak place or a family restaraunt...please...they don't even own a smoker! How can they make "barbecued" ribs without a smoker????

Famous Dave's is a BBQ chain. You get decent BBQ (not great, but not bad either) and they do have good side dishes. I work part time at one and I can tell you that I understand why they are successful (at least at my location). They put out a consistent product at a fair price. 9 out of 10 people (probably 10 out of 10) do not leave there hungry and the overwhelming majority are satisfied with the experience.

BILL sez: "This is for two reasons."

1. Trying to pull the race card, that just does not fly.
2. The push for republicans (Republicans??!!) remember dave (Dave??!!) was buddy buddy with bush.
__________
1) What race card?
2) They were receuiting GOPers at the place?
3) How was the food & sevice?

Dave Anderson is an American success story. Compared to BBQ places around the counntry, the prices are pretty good, and the food is very good. I think they expanded a little too much, and, people are tighter with spending now that gas is over $3 a gallon.

Sounds like a hit and run comment to me. Where's the back-up.

I think Dave's food is good. BBQ & blues is a good combo - possibly timeless. Sure there's better BBQ - even here in the cities. I remember their 1st place on Upton & 43rd. First of it's kind in these here parts. A concept that's probably overdone but I think their failing was building too much (too may stores) too fast. The same kind of trouble Starbucks ran into. It's a trap that almost all once successful businesses fall into. Following metrics to a fault gets 'em every time.

I never saw anyone smoke in our local Famous Daves, even before the ban. It's a family restaurant.

Famous Daves is one of my favorite places to eat, my family really enjoys it!! The smoking ban, I don't think it changed anyones mind about eating there, as a matter of fact it probably helped business imo. Our FD's is always busy in Westland, Michigan. The food is always good, service is always great and the atmosphere is enjoyable.
