Mike, there is likely something else wrong. Have them look at the rest of the EGR components like the "Venturi", Delta Pressure tubes and sensor, and the Exhaust Pressure tube and sensor for leaks (visible soot marks on outside) or for clogged by soot. If anything is clogged by soot, then there is likely an EGR leak somewhere.

Good luck.

Just wondering if you came up with a solution to the ISX nightmare. I own a 2005 International 9900i, you could say I've done it all and then some to try and get better then 5.5mpg. Tire sizes, air to air, turbo, coolers, egr. Seems like I'm still searching for an answer.

Between Turbos, EGRS, and regen systems these trucks are killing my company. Downtime waiting for the parts and then they say it is fixed but six months later the truck presents with the same issues. And now they don't want to stand behind warranty. I'm going after them this is it! Want to join email me at badcummins@hotmail.com

I have a ISX 435 hp 2005 it loses power at times and has a code 128 155 0 PID recirculated engine exhaust gas differential pressure data valid but above normal operational range. I put on a new EGR valve and still the same issue. In first gear the turbo whistles real loud when accelerating some times too don't know if it's part of the same issue or not.

Check the Exhahust manifold bolts behind the turbo, ours has a bad habit of bolts coming loose or snapping. We average about $1000 a month on repairs to this system.

I don't understand why cummins have not issued a recall on thier engines. There is so many problems it's a crime. New truck left kenworth in Prince George BC never made 3hrs down the road turbo failed. They changed the turbo truck went 4 days and it failed again. Thier products are just junk I'm suprised someone has'nt started a class action law suit. The down time is a killer.

Check the exhaust manifold bolts.

We have black smoke and loss of power. Replaced 2 turbos in the past 70 000 kms. Now replaced air intake valve, differential pressure sensor, some other sensor, air lines. Had injectors tested and working fine. Nobody knows the problem. Has been out of service for 2 weeks now and counting over $6000 in repairs so far and still with original problem. Not only is this engine junk, Cummins has no idea how to fix it. Just keep throwing money and parts at it!

I have a 2004 9700I with an isx 435, the turbo is off and on losing boost sometimes for miles at a time and other times its perfect until the engine starts to work hard and then it loses boost. The ecm doesn't throw a code so there are no "mechanics" who can troubleshoot it. Hope there is a real mechanic on here that knows troubleshooting and not just how to read a computer and sell parts.

I bought this 08 Navistar IH with the Cummins ISX 435st. I have had nothing but problems. Oil in coolant, replaced oil cooler $2800, Coolant loss, replaced EGR cooler $2000. 2 days later (today with truck 500 miles away) turbo is squeeling and tranny is heating up???? Any one know anything about this???? Cummins is a joke to allow this to happen. It effects all companies and is putting people out of work. DUH. They should be brought up on criminal charges.

What is the fine for delete kits and mod to get rid of that CRAP on these engines. Can't be anymore than the down time, parts n labor, loss of drivers, fuel costs, and heartache...

have had relatively good luck with the cummins ISX in my fleet,(7 trucks) but MHC Kenworth dealer has been advised of a turbo boost issue with one truck that has hesitaion coming up in lower gears at between 1200 and 1400 rpm, they said until it has a code they cannot diagnose, HUH, loosing mpg and running sick, WOW, I suppose no one has ever had this issue? Got one truck with a MX 455 Paccar, Wish I could still get a 12.7 litre Detroit like I had in the 90's and early 2000's, BUT WE HAVE NO OTHER CHOICES IF YOU BUY PACCAR TRUCKS!!!!

We got a 2007 INTL with a 435 isx cummins in it, we have the code PID100 A 128;F02 and PID 155 A 128;F02 is this just a sensor problem or something more. We have put half the ticket price in this truck already.
