I was a Shingle Roofer for 15 1/2 yrs., off season was Siding an Lt. Carpentry.

It sounds as proper installation was NOT done and who ever was hired to install should be addressed.

I have a house on 4th st in Pine Tree were all the Moble Homes are and we lose them all the time up there and the homes are made by Cavo Ind, Cavco is owned by Centex..as we were told the wind up there cuts under the shingle and lifts it, not much to be done just have to keep nailing them an replaceing as time moves forward..IF its just part of being a New Mexican, learn to live with wind and sand on the west side of Rio Rancho

I live in this neighborhood since Dec 2004 and I too had issues with the shingles every year. After I got a leak in the ceiling last June, I decided it was enough and got it re-roofed.

I live in the Cielo Grande community and can contest as well to the fact that my 3 year-old-roof looks about twenty years old already. I am missing shingles and have water damage inside my attack. I have also filed a complaint with the Attorney General on this matter. I have had nothing but issues with my Centex home from leaks, foundation cracks, retainer walls falling down, bad carpet, to "forgetting" to install a return air vent. I am sorely disappointed in my purchase and only want what is fair. Centex states they stand by their work, yet have stated as well that they will fix our roofs one more time as a "courtesy". Almost every home in our community has missing shingles, so you tell me how that can be quality craftsmanship?? Centex has stated to me that this community was built in a "dip and valley" and the wind gusts are stronger here rather than other areas. This is an insult to my intelligence as well as a ridiculous statement since the Amrep home I lived in for 8 years, 8 miles away NEVER had a shingle missing. Perhaps if they new this community was sucesptable to high wind gusts prior to building, maybe they should have used 6 fasters per shingle as the instructions state to secure them better.

Get out and about whenever possible today. You're feeling energized and will want to keep active at every opportunity.
