Oh really? A man died in one of your sweatshops and nobody did anything wrong? I suppose he "just happened" to fall onto the conveyor that dragged him into a 300°oven and cooked him to death?
You pompous,arrogant,egotistical fool!I dare say this would not be your attitude if it were your family that died this horrible death.
Ever hear of machine guarding? Ever hear of locking out the equipment before attempting to clear a jam? Ever hear of the OSHA General Duty Clause? From your ivory tower,I kind of doubt it.
Too bad Cintas hasn't shown the same willingness to settle with this man's family.But then again,workers are expendable,shareholders are not!
Evey company that uses Cintas should be boycotted!

Too bad your vailed attempt to be a person that cares is overshadowed by your effort to unionize this company. I know Cintas personally it is probably the safest Rental Uniform Supplier in the industry.
This is just Union organizers making hay while the sun shines!

all the rules and training are there I would say that employee did something he was trained not to do

it was a bad situation for all involved. that being said he didnt follow proper procedure for a dryer jam.I KNOW THAT THE COMPANY IS TAKING STEPS TO MAKE SURE THIS NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.sweatshops? please cintas has been voted one of the greatest places to work for years.the union is desperate to collect wages from there 40k employees

Union Organizer??!!? What an idiotic statement to make.I assure you no union would want me as their spokesman because I would call them out as being some of the WORST violators of safety policies/procedures there are,right up there with the management they supposedly despise.
I don't give a rip about unions other than to hope one day they are extinct! Unions are vile,unethical slugs who prey upon the ignorant and seek to line their coffers with the hard earned pay of those they "represent",just like the greedy management and shareholders at Cintas.
Just so you know the FACTS,I do care about the safety and well being of workers.So much so that I have made it my life long occupation.I don't just get on an internet forum and blow off like some,I actually live in the trenches every day fighting for the safety of my employees.
So let's not make this personal,unless you have a reason to divert attention from Cintas.I stand by my original comments,which were directed mostly at the disgusting shareholder,and also to Cintas because no matter how you slice it they bear some responsibility in this man's death.
I would love to be in charge of doing the root cause analysis to find out how this happened.If there in fact are safety policies that are in place that prohibit a worker from doing what this man did,what kind of culture exists in the company that would tolerate such behavior? My guess is he has either done this before,been taught to take a shortcut,or has watched others do it.
All of which means nothing of course to his family.

Shame on you Cintas!
Cintas should truly practice what they preach!

OSHA has fined Cintas $2.78 million for violations in their Tulsa facility. This fine is more than four times larger than the previous largest penalty in the service sector for health and safety violations. Safety inspectors reported 46 illegal hazards in the Tulsa laundry—including 42 “willful” violations. At least one citation was for not protecting workers from the equipment involved in yet another employee's death. Willful violations are committed with “intentional disregard” for the law or “plain indifference” to worker safety.
Simply stated, Cintas is more interested in meeting the expectations of Wall Street than providing a safe working environment for their employees.

I know Cintas personally as well, being a partner for 5 years out of college and moving up in the ranks. Since then, I have worked at 3 other manufacturers and of the 4 I know, Cintas is the by far the least concerned with safety. Production expense as a percent to sales is of far greater importance to upper management. There is a "whatever it takes" culture in Cintas that is bred from the top down. I supervised at a plant where clearing a jam on a wash conveyor while it was running occurred several times a shift. I was shown by the PM and have done it a hundred times myself. Its too bad this was my first employer out of school and I didnt know any better or maybe I could have stood up to management.
