Mindy, I'm so sorry for what happened to your daughter's father; his death has humbled me. I know that God heard my earnest request, and He will expose the terrorist that are operating in all prison industries. I've heard, first hand, of the torture that goes on in NBCI. What's incredible, to me, is that even though most people are non-believers, they still play God. Know that a human being can not dehumanize another without becoming dehumanized in the process. Mindy, he has left this hypocritical world that we live in, and is now experiencing paradise.

NO NO He was not murdered. THANK GOD. Homicide is involved because they handle attempted murder as well. Their intent was to kill them. Thank god they didn't.

my family member was injured severly in an attack by the guards suffering a broken nose, 14 sticthes in his face, they broke both his jaws he now has permanant damage to his chin they kicked out his teeth left footprints on his body, blackened both his eyes and left him blood covered and yet he has never had a violent charge on him so explain how this is just. people dont understand that some of these criminals have drug problems and do petty crimes to end up where they are... I think some co's just think they are hot shit with a badge and really take their job to a crummy level. how would they feel if their family member was abused or treated like crap it would be a nightmare and even worse we didnt even get a message that he was sent to two different hospitals to try and put his face back together and all these beatings take place while handcuffed and maced you cant even try and defend yourself... there really are crooked cops and co's that are not better than the inmates they torture all day long....

Its time to put these inmates in their places and show them who is and who isnt in charge. Im sick of all this BS about these poor inmates who will never ever admit to any kind of wrong doing. Enough is enough. These inmates are put in prison to do their time and think they are going to take over the place. Gangs are getting out of hand and its time everyone wake up and face the facts. The taxpayers are wasting hard earned money to house these ruthless animals who think society owes them something. They hate prison so bad that as soon as they are released they go right back in because they have it too damn good!!!!!!!!!!

It's so interesting that everyone can point the finger at the next man. I've found that, yes, inmates HAVE done whatever to be "in jail" but that gives NO MAN the authority to violate an inmate. It's your "job" to keep order within the prison but NOT to purposely, viciously, beat someone just becuase. A uniform does not mean you are GOD. Let us NOT forget our position. The physical jail, is to punish them for their wrongdoings and God takes care of the rest. I like to hear the comments of a correctional officer that perhaps has a son, daughter, mother, father, sister or brother that ends up in the system and have their loved one beat..... I think their comments will be different. Mindy, I pray for your loved one. I've worked in the system, and I've seen much. Some are just as corrupted as the inmates.... as far as the inmates, yes they are there for a reason. Some for minor charges, some for some awfully cruel charges but no one has "GOD" on their birth certificates.Forgive me for bringing race in the picture but it seems as if some of the comments are directly from some redneck CO's that I've like to have the balls to spend a month or a week in the Baltimore city prison without their being put in protective custody. Their tune will surely change. It's good in everyone as well as bad. Thats goes for the inmates as well as the co's. "inmate" means you have obviously violated some type of law and are being punished, "Correctional officer" means you are first a "human being"... probably NOT perfect but hired to "work" in the prison system on an 8 hour shift, risking your life yes but not ordained to almost commit murder. When co's do stupid selfish acts such as this, it makes the good co's look bad. When they make stupid comments, it makes co's look like a joke. To get respect, you first have to give respect, and carry oneself in a respectful manner. There will always being corruption in the system built to reform the corrupt individuals because in the pityful world we live in..... no matter what the important title.... a lost corrupt soul will always creep in. To my decent co's, God bless you. To the dirty co's... your day WILL come. For the inmates, God Bless you. Whatever the dirty deed committed, the battle is NOT ours, It's the Lord's. May they make their own peace with him and ask forgiveness. What we all must realize is that, we have to forgive those that did us harm, for if we wish harm against that individual, we are no better than the person that committed whatever against us. ause the main system You give respect to

all you sympathetic souls that want people to believe that every inmate is beaten and starved and left for dead are probably the same people that myself and other c.o.s catch trying to bring contraband into the prison on a regular basis to help out your man. wake up ladies. chances are the bring it on themselves. do you honestly think in todays day and age we could get away with that stuff? it ain't the 60s. we have too much to lose to do that for fun. yeah you hear that an inmate gets beaten in the news ,but you don't hear the back story of how he attacked an officer from behind with a weapon and resisted several attempts to calm down. think you could do a better job? you walk these tiers with murderers, rapists, and other low lifes in the system and cater to them like their mommy and let them work you to compromise your job or integrity.

For the "good" co's, I don't think these comments are meant to offend you. On the other hand...... because of the corrupt co's, it paints a bad picture. Personally, I feel for the co's that accept that job offer. The money isn't all that great, they put their lives on the line, only to have a co-worker OVER DO their job. Restraint is one thing, beaten the hell out of someone is something totally different.........especially when it's more than one co. To restraint, OKAY....but I've been there with someone dirty ones, and it's unnecessary and most of the time uncalled for. It's not like anyone is holding a gun on them to stay in the job. I didn't like the inmates, nor the corrupted co's I watched. Hell, they could even set up their own co-workers.

There is so much going on behind prison bars that outsiders are never made aware of. I have visited the Hagerstown facility on more than one occasion and find that the guards there are predominately white and have a resentment towards persons of color. I too have heard that inmates who do not receive frequent visits from outside sources are often the main targets. Many are taken to hidden quarters and beated, left unfed, and God only knows what else. No matter what a person has done they are sent to prison to make amends for their wrong doings. It's easy for some to say they deserve what they get, until one of their loved-ones fall into a situation such as this. I can only pray for all those closed minded individuals that you do not ever get a chance to have a loved one locked away and wonder if they will ever make it back out alive.

You can count on one hand the amount of dirty Correctional officers there are, but the idiotic comment from the above Lisa from Baltimore is a prime example of ignorance and racism on her behalf. I assume that the tension started at visit registration when rules were suppose to be followed, or resentment from being observed in the visiting room for to much close contact. You will find out that most of the negative comments that are written, are from incarcerated inmates family or friends that did not walk the line in the visiting room, or was told they must follow the rules and regulations. If one feels that racism is a issue maybe one needs to do the Correctional officers job. A majority of the black population would not do this job because of the image it portrays amongst the black population. So now we are faced with racial conflict like the above statement from Lisa from Baltimore instigating racial devide by making comments about all the officers racial tendencies. In fact in most case it was a poor attitude displayed on their behalf blaming Correctional officer for the imprisonment of their loved ones. Not all visitors display a confrontational attitude but in most cases most all the posted negetive comments are. This negative news about abuse is anoying but this does not occur every day. You never here about the good things that happen just the bad. The officers responding to fights preventing stabblings and in return saving the life of your so called inmate friend. or may be a CPR resuscitation.
You know' as a ex correctional officer there are several differences between a Correctional Officer and inmates. I can except 'no for a answer and I know the difference between right and wrong and I know the name of my father. If you do not have family values it is easy to blame every body for your ignorance. If you live in the ghetto, get out of the ghetto other wise stop whining about how people treat you and earn some respect or you will get treated like you live in the ghetto. I don't have to deal with the changing time anymore but I sure feel sorry for the new ones facing 20 years. Politicians affraid of the ACLU, lack of good supervision, new young officers 18 years old,and scared political figures dealing with the death penalty.
As a result the country is in a downward spirel with polition becomming more like Sen Kennedy's voting record.
