Cops: Woman said husband's slaying was in defense

When the first police officer arrived at Kelly Forbes' Merrick home last November, she was standing at the top of the stairway sobbing, the officer testified yesterday.

Looks like this woman did us all a favor. With all the stories I've read about people with extensive violent histories free on the streets until they commit a murder or another rape, I'm quite confident I won't be reading about him in Newsday 3 months from now. Interesting since this women was shorter and 100 pounds less than her hubby. How did she get that around his neck without him knowing? Odd. Then again, we do not know all the facts. I guess it will come out at trial. The sad thing about this whole story is the fact that there is a young child - whose mother might end up in prison and there is a man who is dead. Regardless of what he has done in his past, he is now dead. The whole story is tragic.

That's right cant touch this, and another very sad part of the story is that this man also had a child whom he was very close with. With him went his daughter, a teen who cherished the ground he walked on, no matter what his past was, he made sure she knew about it. Imagine, someone who could not appreciate a better life, ends it all by strangulation for the love of money..

I am sorry to hear that there is also another child who is affected by a selfish, discusting act. No one has the right to take anyone's life, not ever. I don't know if it was for money or just because of being an evil human being. We all know right from wrong and we have all met bad people in this world and people who have angered us to a breaking point, however, majority of people pull back and reassess the situation. You don't strangle another human being. If it was so bad, why did'nt she leave? this whole thing is awful, makes me sick to my stomach to think this man trusted another individual and felt comfortable enough around her to let his guard down. How very sad. I am sorry for the family of these two people and I am sorry this man was killed. May god have mercy on her.
